Joseph Suite - Stylish 3BR Home with Parking & WIFI

Spotlessly clean, clear check-in instructions. I am local and it was family visiting so was very close.

Overall, there were a few issues. 1. The house stunk of cannabis the second the windows were open. 2. Massive hole in the carpet on the top of the stairs. A major trip hazard, especially for our disabled member. The landlord had 'dealt' with it by laying a tea towel over the hole. 3. When we arrived there were no 'parking slips' for the on street parking. Parking nearby was a priority as we have a disabled member in our group. 4. I had messaged enquiring if there were fans at the property. They replied beforehand saying, "Yes, there are fans." When we arrived, there was only 1 for all 3 bedrooms. 5. The kitchen lacked utensils, and there were only 2 forks, for example. I messaged the manager on Sunday when we arrived. Heard back on Monday morning and, in fairness, did drop off 2 more fans and a pack of cutlery. They also printed and laminated a card saying they had applied for more parking passes. We placed it in our car, and I did say if we get hit with a fine, I'll be sending it on, and he did agree to that.

Great location, really lovely house - so comfy. Had everything we needed. Ashley and Enoch were so helpful.

Good WiFi and streaming services on tv

Wasn’t enough towels or bedding for the fold out bed and the travel cot had no Matress or bedding. It may have been an extra, I can’t remember but with the heat, fans would have been good. The worst thing to note were the Rats!! Freely running around the yard and badly kept bin area meaning we couldn’t let dogs or kids outside

Modern inside, good having 2 toilets, two bedrooms good sizes. Keypad worked well on front door.

Ants in living room and small flies in kitchen and the mat on the stair towards the kitchen. Some walls need a freshen up. Kitchen window wouldn’t open. No curtains in two of the bedrooms. Carpet bare in living room. Bulb gone in lamp.

The location was central.

The on/off switch for the shower pull cord was too high. Had to stand on a chair, which wasn't safe. The toilet brushes and holders in the bathroom/toilet needs replacing (very dirty). The shower outlet needs cleaning as this was very dirty and stops water draimning away quickly.

Location was very good close to local shops and in walking distance to bars and restaurants. The house was spacious except the kitchen which was very small and awkward.

The small kitchen didn't have enough work space to cook and prepare meals and what work top was there looked like it was bare wood and very scratched and wasnt wipe clean. The back garden was small and scruffy next door to untidy neighbours! I booked this house because of previous good reviews saying it was spotless and comfortable but I didn't find the house to be either. None of the beds were comfortable, the sofa in the lounge had low back and only one arm rest and as we had young children with us we were looking to relax at the house in the evenings but it was a bit uncomfortable, one of the lounge chairs was very hard. There was privacy film on windows, some may like that but I'd prefer to be able to look outside. There was no curtains in the front bedroom despite there being rails for them, only blinds which were not blackout blinds so heavy curtains would of helped keep the early morning light out. The top of the bed where the tv slides down was missing. The photos made the house look lovely but it was actually very shabby and a couple of the doors hadn't even been painted. We struggled with the heating finding it hard to turn off! In the end I turned down the thermostatic controls. The bathroom was very dirty, stained tiles, the plug trap was filthy and there was dust on the skirting that looks like it's been there several months. And there was plastic plants everywhere and so many ornaments on shelves it almost prevented us being able to put our stuff there. We were under the impression there was free parking and we travelled in 2 cars, but on arrival there was an out of date parking permit as it was a permit parking area but only 1 permit which was a bit tricky but luckily we managed as restrictions ended at 6pm and we took 1 car out all day anyway.

Overall it’s a beautiful house, great location, we walked to Barry Island and all the Gavin and Stacey spots. Lovely decor in the house, big TV, comfy sofa, washing machine was fab after day out. A few issues though, the shower plug hasn’t been cleaned in a long time and the tiles are mouldy, a review from December mentioned this and it still hasn’t been rectified. The parking pass was out of date. There were a lot of cracks in the wall in the small bedroom, that need repairing.

The house was really nice, bigger than expected. Location was great, short walk into Barry Island. Nicely decorated and allocated parking is added bonus. Plenty of local shops in the next street. Excellent choice of places to eat or get takeaway.

We had a truly wonderful stay at the house in Barry! The location was perfect, just a short walk to all the local attractions, including the iconic “Gavin and Stacey” house and Barry Island. The house itself was beautifully decorated with great attention to detail, making it feel warm and welcoming from the moment we arrived. It had all the modern conveniences you could wish for, including access to Netflix, which was perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring. The property was spotless, and everything was well thought out to make our stay as comfortable as possible. Being so close to both the seaside and key landmarks made it an ideal spot for both exploring and unwinding. We would highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Barry—whether you’re a “Gavin and Stacey” fan or just looking for a lovely getaway in South Wales. We’ll definitely be back!

The property was modern and clean and relatively well equipped with space enough for the 6 adults gathered for the weekend. Once we worked out the heating system, it was very warm and comfortable. We enjoyed the free parking permit for outside the property and the other on street free parking just around the corner. The owner was communicative before our arrival and answered a call when we got in. We did enjoy our stay, but the small things below did have a collaborative less positive overall effect.

There are a few wear and tear small issues that need to be attended to and the sofa bed in the lounge is not the most comfy - very hard. The heating was off when we arrived, which was not at all welcoming and took a good couple of hours to get cosy. I really didn't like not knowing how much would be charged for 2 small well behaved dogs, that information didn't come through until the few days before we arrived - why not just put the cost upfront in the booking.com details - £63.00 for 2 nights is very steep! Plus the £20 non refundable security deposit - I am not a fan of hidden costs. Despite emailing the owner twice about an issue we had with a missing duvet cover & towels for 2 of us, we heard nothing in reply about this , though we received 2 automated messages from him about other things. Not such the personal touch he intended I imagine.

great location with walking distance to shops, eats and the main town. A gorgeous property, refurbed to a high standard and with almost everything you could need. Nice to have a parking permit to park outside.

It really was a super house in a great location. The only improvement - which is so minor- would be to have had tea towels for wiping up the dishes, a hairdryer, and perhaps some salt and pepper, cooking oil and a little UHT milk which I have had before at properties and which makes life easier. But nothing else to comment on as it was all lovely.
