Lazy Bear Retreat at Talkeetna Lodge

Great location, plenty of room and provisions (coffee, tea, toilet paper, etc.) available, washer and dryer available.

The home could use a little TLC. There is a window in the upstairs bedroom without a window treatment which makes it difficult to sleep in the summer in Alaska, the shower door in the first - floor bathroom leaked causing water to leak on the floor, would be nice to have hangers in the closets upstairs. These are all simple fixes that would make it more comfortable.

Everything about our stay at Lazy Bear retreat exceeded our expectations. The property was spotless, beautifully maintained, and felt like a true home away from home. The location couldn’t have been more perfect—peaceful, convenient, and exactly what we were hoping for. From start to finish, everything was perfect. The host was very responsive, making the entire experience smooth and stress-free. We felt comfortable, welcomed, and completely at ease throughout our stay. We will definitely be returning, and we highly recommend Lazy Bear retreat to anyone looking for the perfect getaway!n

The property was in a great location and we enjoyed the little town of Talkeetna.

The property was dirty. We would have loved to cook breakfast, but the stove and oven were dirty. We had a squirrel visit us in the morning so we had to keep all our food in the refrigerator. The carpeting was dirty. We had to empty out the ashes in order to use the lovely wood burning stove. They provided three big logs, but no paper and not enough kindling to start fires. We had a late arrival and had trouble figuring out how to use the plumbing. Some literature on how to operate the plumbing would have been helpful. The bedding and towels were clean, but they should do a thorough cleaning before renting this Airbnb.
