If you value your money, please DO NOT stay at this hotel. It advertises itself as a 5-star one, but is nothing of that sort. Let’s break it down: ROOMS: We got a room facing a literal wall, inside the court yard. Bathroom sliding door did not close fully - had to practically leave the room for my mom to go to the bathroom. Many fittings were just falling apart. Though we did get a room change, the cleanliness level was still not there with hair all over the new “clean” room. WiFi barely reaches the rooms, by the way, and keeps disconnecting. FACILITIES: Layout of buildings very confusing with insufficient signs. Rooftop pool looks abandoned and not taken care of - as is the entire complex. In order to get to the gym, you have to go through the smelly car park. BREAKFAST: The space for breakfast is tiny with food constantly running out. Choice is extremely limited for a “5-star” establishment. People waiting to get food. Lovely case study: family sitting next to us got some baked goods. Child almost started eating a mouldy bun when his mother noticed it. Staff quickly took the bun away. Unbelievable. CROWD: At night, there was a loud group of people outside, making it impossible to fall asleep. Hotel did nothing about it. There is a smoking area in between two buildings, where people constantly hang out and drink. All we wanted was to just pay for what we stayed, leave and change hotels, but getting reimbursed was not easy. Instead, we got offered another room to wait for the reimbursement decision. Still stuck here. Does that sound like a 5-star experience to you? I will let you make up your mind. The only thing that keeps this place running is friendly staff - they really are the only positive about this place. Thailand is a wonderful country with many incredible hotels. Please, for your own good, avoid the Proud Karon Beach Phuket.

Hotel won’t accept credit card for damage deposit. No where in my booking did it mention they didn’t take credit card. I even showed the staff my booking confirmation that it doesn’t say credit card won’t be accepted. It was extremely inconvenient to find out when I checked in. The staff was friendly about it but it doesn’t change the fact that this caused a lot of inconvenience.
