The Art Guesthouse

The accommodation and gardens were very unusual with being decorated and surrounded in artwork done by the owner, who was very nice, friendly and chatty. It was ideally situated and in walking distance of Hartbeespoort main street and attractions.

The larger rooms/accommodation looked stunning but we were in the Studio Flat, which unfortunately didn't have a wardrobe/cupboards or drawers for our clothes, which I didn't realize when I booked it, so we were living out of our suitcase. The pool water was discolored and didn't appear to be maintained. As beautiful and unusual as the accommodation and gardens looked from a distance, it could do with a bit of a face lift in some areas.

We had a fantastic stay at Art Guest House. The accommodation itself was great, comfortable, clean, and full of character. What really stood out was the art. The pieces in the room were so cool and unique, and you can see how much thought has gone into every detail. All the small touches throughout the space really add to the overall experience and make it feel special. The pool area is beautiful and well-kept, such a lovely spot to relax and unwind. It adds to the calm, creative atmosphere of the guest house. Most of all, the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. From the moment we arrived, we felt at home. Their warmth and attentiveness truly made the stay even more enjoyable.

This really is a colourful arty place. You feel really at home and it was super comfortable. The art is really out of this world. The facilities were great and we used the pool both days. We stayed in the smoky charcoal room and it really looks like how the pictures are!

The bed is really soft . Nothing else to complain about.

The guesthouse is run down, and the outdoor areas are dirty. If you are allergic to cats this is not the place for you as there is cat hair everywhere. When we arrived Elsa was unaware that we had booked three and not two rooms, although all three had been booked online, confirmed via message and fully paid for. We were told that we were lucky that she still had space for us. On our first morning there was no hot water for showering. We waited for the scones etc that were promised on Booking.com, but they never arrived. Elsa and Timothy were both uncontactable, and therefore unable to assist with these issues. When we did hear from Elsa we were told that the breakfast scones, muffins, jam etc had been discontinued over a year ago, although this was still featured online.
