Welcome to The Schoolhouse!

Take it easy at this unique and tranquil getaway

This adorable 4 bedroom home is newly renovated and located just outside the charming town of Bellville, only 7 miles from I-71. When pulling in, you will be met by a peaceful country setting.

Like to fish? Visit the pond and try your luck or pull up a chair and sit next to the fire pit and enjoy the stars. Too cold to head out? Then snuggle up inside this charming house and make plans to explore the local attractions or just stay in and relax. For those animals lovers, you will find a pasture at the end of the driveway that is home to 3 of the cutest highland cows you have ever met! You are welcome to grab a treat and feed them through the fence or contact me directly for pictures and a meet and greet with the ladies! Don’t worry… if animals are not your thing, the pasture is far enough away you will never know they are there unless you want to.

This home is the perfect place for meeting up and reconnecting with friends and family. It features pops of color, comfy furniture and beds, plenty of space at the large dining table for eating or working, and a floor plan that is both open and inviting. The exposed brick and rafters make it even more memorable. The kitchen is well stocked to meet all of your cooking and baking needs.

Downstairs features an open area that connects the family room, dining area, and kitchen, washer/dryer, and half bathroom. Also located downstairs is bedroom number 1 with a queen bed, and a full bathroom. There is a mud room/bonus room with a bunk bed and plenty of coat hooks which leads to the covered patio and grill. This space is set up with fairy lights for a great outdoor atmosphere. Don’t forget those marshmallows for the fire pit which is located just past the covered porch and stocked with wood.

The upstairs features 3 bedrooms and a full bathroom. The upstairs hall overlooks the family room. Two of the upstairs bedrooms include king beds and closet space while the 3rd is set up with just enough space for 2 twin beds.

This is a unique property - rustic and historical but also very updated and spacious. It was easy to cook given the well stocked kitchen and big island. Beds were comfortable and there are three baths. This place is very clean. We used the fire pit both nights and visited the cows and goats every day to give them treats. The property owners introduced us to the animals and recommended places to visit. The barn cat, Pete, is probably the friendliest cat on Earth.Notes: There is a decent amount of natural light in bedrooms, so an eye mask is helpful if you're a late sleeper. It doesn't seem to be haunted :)Places we visited within a few miles of the property: Malabar Farm, Mohican State Park covered barn and gorge overlook, Hemlock Falls, and The Black Fork Bistro in Loudonville.

This house was too cool! It was perfect for our family as our daughter was getting married down the road. Close to the venue, the house had all the amenities you could need. Comfortable beds, and the animals were so fun to visit! Thank you for sharing your beautiful historical home with us!

Definitely a neat place to stay!! You will want to bring the kids too because the animals are so neat and kind and funny! And Pete, the barn cat is an absolute sweetheart that my girls fell in love with immediately. They couldnt wait to tell him goodnight after love and hello every morning. He was basically their shadow and enjoys attention too! The inside has something for everyone and very nicely done inside and still have the original building was neat. We loved the long table to eat meals and giving the cows and goats treats and laughing at how "food motivated" they all were. All in all, family had a wonderful time and experience and would definitely recommend to any animal lovers!!

We spent the weekend at this charming farmhouse just minutes from Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course, and it was the perfect home base for the motorcycle races. From the moment we pulled in, it felt welcoming—with cozy common spaces, a relaxing vibe, and all the little extras that made our stay feel effortless. And then there’s Petey, the friendly farm cat—instantly a weekend highlight. He was curious, affectionate, and added such a homey touch that really set the tone for our crew’s stay. The location couldn’t have been better—just a quick drive to the track, making it so easy to come back, unwind, and relive the day over drinks and laughs. A great spot for a getaway with friends, especially if you’re there for the races. All in all, truly a standout place. Great for relaxing, great for laughter, and absolutely perfect for a race-weekend hangout. Highly recommend
