About this house rental
Welcome to Mountain Haven, a beautiful new build located in scenic Amherst County, VA. The house is just minutes away from Piney River, breathtaking hikes, fly fishing, wineries and breweries, and just a short drive from Wintergreen Resort. There is no shortage of things to do in the area year-round. If you’re looking for a quiet, secluded getaway, simply relax in front of the fireplace and take in the stunning mountain view while the stress melts away.
The Space:
The cottage is a spacious three bedroom ranch with three full bathrooms and two main suites. The gorgeous modern kitchen is fully appointed with everything you’ll need for your stay. A dining table and island seating provide plenty of space for you, your friends and family to enjoy meals together. A gas fireplace anchors the upstairs living space, surrounded by comfortable furniture and expansive views of the Priest and Little Priest mountain peaks.
Each bedroom is outfitted with a queen bed and both main suites feature a reading nook and attached bathroom.
Each full bathroom is stocked with toiletries and towels for your convenience. Additionally, the lower floor couch converts to a full-size sleeper.
The lower floor provides a massive recreation space to watch movies and play games, while also carving out a workspace for the road warriors (again, with that amazing view) and a cozy wine bar area to sit and enjoy a glass of your favorite local Virginia wine.
Other things to note:
Mountain Haven Cottage is situated in Amherst County and sits near the border with Nelson County. Each county is home to some of the best breweries and wineries in VA. You will find Blue Mountain Brewery, Outback Brewing Company, Lovingston Winery, Ankida Ridge Winery, Lazy Days Winery, all within 20 mins of the cottage. Further up route 151 into Nelson County, you’ll find dozens more wineries and breweries only 30-40 minutes away, to include Devil’s Backbone, Three Notch’d, and Bold Rock. For the active adventurers, you’ll find a wide range of hikes in the nearby Priest Wilderness, James River State Park, Mount Pleasant, and Crabtree Falls areas. Wintergreen ski resort is only a short drive away and offers year-round activities for the entire family. For golf enthusiasts, you’ll find the Winton Country Club only minutes down the road or Devil’s Knob course located on the Wintergreen property. We absolutely loved the property. So many thoughtful details. Easy to get to beautiful nearby hiking trails, winery and into Amherst for dinner. The property manager was very proactive and helpful.
