About this apartment rental
Beautiful vacation rental with a private sauna. The sauna can be booked on-site for a fee. Charges are based on usage.
This modernly furnished vacation rental is located on the first floor of an annex to the half-timbered house shown in the photo. You’ll only share the main entrance with the landlord; otherwise, you’ll have the annex all to yourself. It almost feels like a vacation home. The apartment features a dining area with a corner bench and table. From here, you can access all the other rooms: these include a kitchen with built-in appliances, a microwave, and everything you need. The large bedroom has a double bed and a large wardrobe. The small bedroom has a double bed and a rolling wardrobe. Both beds are standard size, measuring 180 x 200 cm. The bright living room features a flat-screen TV with satellite reception and a DVD player. There’s also a cozy corner couch for relaxing. Adjacent to the kitchen is the large bathroom. Here you’ll find a sauna, a shower, and a washing machine. A baby/child’s bed and a high chair can be provided upon request.
The apartment has gas-fired radiators, so you can set the temperature in the apartment to your liking. The apartment also has internet access (Wi-Fi). Note: Unfortunately, the wooden floor in this apartment creaks a bit. While this adds to the home’s charm, it’s a result of the original construction and cannot be changed at this time. However, the only person this might bother is you, since there are no other apartments above or below yours. If you think this might be a problem for you, you’re welcome to choose one of the other two apartments instead, provided they’re still available. Apartment A3 is similar, but without a sauna.
You have a reserved parking space for one car. Otherwise, there is ample parking available 50 and 250 meters away. Just about 300 meters away, there is a playground for the little ones. Schalkau is located on the southern edge of the Thuringian Forest in the "Schaumberger Land vor dem Wald" region. To the south lies the Franconian hill country, and to the north, the Thuringian Forest. The well-known "Samba City" of Coburg is only about a 15-minute drive away. The surrounding area offers many hiking and biking trails. There are also numerous museums, such as the Toy Museum in Sonneberg, the Gold Museum near Rauenstein, and many more. Several interesting ruins are also worth visiting. For those seeking relaxation, there are several spa resorts in the immediate and wider vicinity, such as Masserberg and Staffelstein. Winter sports enthusiasts won’t be disappointed either, as there are summer toboggan runs in Waffenrod and Ernstthal, as well as easily accessible ski resorts, such as the Silbersattel Ski Arena in Steinach.
