Maybe you fancy a visit to the Sian Ka’an Biosphere Reserve, near the Mayan Ruins of Tulum or just lay down in a sunbed over the soft, white sand, admiring the beautiful unique blue water of the Mexican Caribbean. Without a doubt, the shining star of the Riviera is Playa del Carmen, the biggest city of the touristic strip.
In “Playa” (how locals like to call it), the hard thing will be having nothing to do. It’s main street, Quinta Avenida, fully pedestrian, is home to boutiques, bars and restaurants that pose an extraordinary culinary offer. In Playa options are, to say the less, unlimited.

This property had pros and cons. Overall, we enjoyed our stay, but I'm not sure I'd stay in this particular unit again. We most enjoyed the pool area with both sun and shade and lots of seating, as well as the spacious balcony overlooking the pool area. We appreciated the location just steps away from the beach and the perk of getting an umbrella and two lounge chairs at the beach club. It is also easy walking distance to restaurants and shops, especially on 5th Avenue, and to a big grocery store. One negative about the location was loud live music nearby on two of the nights (Sun and Thurs). I think it ended around 11pm, so if you go to bed later it likely wouldn't be an issue. Unfortunately on our last day, there was a period of heavy rain and a very unpleasant smell lingered around and in the building for the next 24 hours, even getting into our unit. Luckily this was only on our last night and we didn't need to find out how long it lasted. Finally, we were disappointed in the communication from the property manager--check-in information came only hours before our flight after multiple requests, and our "concierge" requested to meet us at check-in and check-out but then was never available to do so. Overall, it's a great location with some room for improvement on the guest experience.

Apartment complex was conveniently located near a shopping and restaurant district and a 7-Eleven next to it. The unit is clean and fully equipped, including basic condiments. The pool area is nice and has comfortable lounging areas. Playa Moments representatives were helpful although at times take a while to respond to emails. Enjoyed our stay overall.
