Mar&Mar Old Town 2 Bedroom Apartment

It’s a nice, spacious property quite close to the old town and the beach. Facilities were fully functional and the bathroom was very modern. Overall the place and the owner were very pleasant.

It’s located on the top of a hill so it is quite a climb back up to the property after a day out. Luckily ubers there are quite cheap so we tried to avoid walking as much as possible. It would’ve also been nice to have a washing machine, as the local laundromat is quite terrible and didn’t even wash or dry our clothes and towels properly. I would’ve recommended bringing more clothes than you think you need to avoid needing to wash them, however it became apparent after the first day that you can’t have dirty clothes inside (even in plastic bags) as the smell attracted an entire ant colony to our room. I feel sorry for the owner as we found a bottle of ant poison under the sink so they’ve probably been dealing with this for a while. If you’re going to stay here, I would recommend first of all keeping your dirty socks, underwear and swimsuits in ziplock bags and placing them high up somewhere (we placed ours on top of the wall lamps in the living room) and then spraying all the ants with bug spray and mopping the entire house (as we had to do multiple times) then leave small amounts of the ant poison along the cracks in the skirting board. You might still find an ant or 2 but this was the only thing that kept them away from our underwear for the rest of the trip. They did stay away from the kitchen but I wouldn’t keep any food out in the open just in case. Speaking of cleaning, it would’ve been nice to have at least some soap or something as the apartment comes with zero cleaning products. Just toilet paper and a mop and a sponge for the sink. On the first night we had to go out and buy dish soap, hand soap, laundry detergent, tissues, wipes etc to clean the apartment and ourselves from the ants. Even just some wipes would be enough for the first day.

In eerste instantie hadden wij een appartement in het centrum van Albufeira, alles volgens wens op loopafstand. Helaas door een behoorlijke waterlekkage moesten wij verkassen naar een moderner appartement 8 km buiten Albufeira. Niets dan lof over de behulpzaamheid en aangedragen oplossing vanuit de organisatie. Is wat ons betreft een betrouwbare en vriendelijke organisatie.

Dat we niet meer op loopafstand zaten.

Küche ist nicht so gut ausgestattet und auch schon sehr alt, generell sieht das apartment auf den foto um vieles besser aus als in echt. Alle räume sind sehr stark mit raumspray eingesprüht Alle betten und kopfpolster sind extrem durchgelegen und alt.
