Family Home Shimanouchi House Ⅱ

Three friends travelling together. Very convenient location, close enough to everything - about a 10 minute walk to the main area but in a quiet area with a small park opposite. Many restaurants close by. It was great that we each had our own space. Two proper bedrooms and one nook with a double bed. Three toilets and three mirrors were convenient. The bed I had was comfortable and the place had everything we required such as a washing machine (although nothing to dry anything on). We are out the whole time and only used the fridge for drinks and snacks. It wasn't set up to cook full meals but did have an induction cooktop to plug in if you wanted to cook a very simple meal. Google doesn't take you to the correct location so the YouTube video we were sent after booking was helpful.

A seemingly small issue made many challenges given that privacy became such a hassle and we are not the type of friends that want to be nude around each other. 😅🤣 The towels provided were Japanese style towels which were approximately 30cm X 70cm so they don't cover your bits. We were only provided these and one bath mat (even though there are 2 showers) no hand towels, or tea towels. I asked if it was possible to get an extra bathmat and some hand towels and was given a rude no in reply and told I should stay in a luxury hotel instead. Funny thing was, they had a pack of western style towels with hand towels and bathmats hiding in the corner of the kitchen, I don't know why we could use them.. also I have no idea why we didn't just use them and wash them but we survived on our tiny towels, if it was a longer stay it would have been unmanageable. The main toilet and shower are in the kitchen so we didn't really have a communal space as we chose to use it as a bathroom\changing space (given the towel situation and we couldn't walk to our rooms without exposing ourselves). The stairs are very steep and while it wasn't an issue for us it is something to consider if anyone has any mobility issues or small children.
