Brand new modern Cheltenham home

The property was a good size with plenty of bedrooms and showers for our group of three.

Upon our arrival after a long day of motorcycling from Wales we struggled to find the property as it did not have the house number clearly identified and we did not have the details for the key safe code. Also along the side of the entrance door the bins were overflowing with additional refuse sacks stacked up. There were a very large number of empty beer bottles and other rubbish attracting a large number of wasps. Upon entering the property the walls on the staircase were covered in dirty liquid stains. It also didn’t smell very pleasant so we opened the windows to air the property. As we were a group of three mature motorcyclists we simply showered and got ready to go out to eat. If we hind the garden fence and out of sight of the main door would have been better than leaving this unsightly and un hygienic mess)had our partners with us I think they would have refused to stay. The bedding was all creased and the washing machine was running with washing in it. The towels were cheap and small meaning that we had to use two towels to dry after our shower. To describe this property as Brand new is misleading as the decorative condition and cleanliness of the walls were not that of a Brand new property. I would say that the company managing the property are certainly not preparing the property for the arrival of a new set of guests (even if the bottles etc had been moved back and for the little extra cost of bath towels .A shame as the property was clearly built to facilitate a comfortable stay but neglected.

Property was very clean, modern, comfortable large enough for all and finished to a high standard

The only thing I would say is that it was lacking an information book for local amenities WiFi code and recycling

Location.

Two of the mattresses were uncomfortable and needed replacing. Kitchen utensils including cutlery very cheap and of poor quality. Towels thin and obviously well used, due for replacement. Piles of rubbish outside the door. Grass needed cutting and dead briars/ old roses around edge of garden dangerous for young children. Freezer hadn’t been emptied - a problem as you don’t know the providence of the food left. Settee unstable, one leg looked like it would collapse. And to cap it all, the tv zapper batteries failed…….

On 1st impression we were pleasantly surprised. The property was newly decorated, clean and warm. Prior to checking in the host was very helpful and communicative. We paid a small fee to check in early as we were attending a wedding.

We had paid an extra supplement as we were a family of 8 (4 couples). I was told that the sofas in the living room were sofa beds and there was extra bedding in the house for this. However, there were only 7 pillows provided in total and 3 duvets and 1 single duvet. The bedding was of a very poor quality. The beds were small doubles and the mattresses very soft and uncomfortable and one couple had to sleep in a single bed because of this. Two of the bedrooms had no blinds on the windows / skylights. The bedroom lights had no shades (just bare bulbs). The towels were like cardboard and there was a minimal supply of basics like toilet paper. There was also a huge collection of empty bottles and overflowing recycling outside the front door which should have been cleared before a new guest arrival. I did give the host feedback the following morning but I never had a response from him. All in all very disappointing :(
