Fabulous, well decorated duplex apart with communal laundry room and outdoor space. Very comfortable beds and fully equipped kitchen. Beautiful view of the bay. 15 minute walk to Happy Mount park and 30 minutes in opposite direction to centre and station. Great shops and pubs 2 minutes away in Bare.
Very minor detail - sealant in shower quite black.

Great location, spacious, well equipped.
The basement dining room is damp, which is a shame considering the refurbishment that has taken place. The hall lights (mega-bright) are on a sensor so anyone getting up in the light flood-lit the corridor, a night setting would make sense. Pre-visit communication was poor. I received a message detailing: PRE-ARRIVAL REQUIREMENTS 1. Provide a refundable security deposit 2. Sign our rental agreement 3. Upload your ID This felt more like a passport application than a three-night break agreement. In undertaking all this via a linked site on my phone’s small screen I somehow omitted to sign the rental document. Despite this, two days before arrival I received a long pre-stay message that included “The code for the building door entry lock will be sent to you one hour before check-in, together with your unique apartment access code.” On arrival day we had a four-hour drive with two car-sick prone grandchildren; we messaged from thirty minutes away requesting the door code. We didn’t get a reply. On arrival (freezing cold, rainy, windy day) I phoned the contact number on the link via the page on Booking that went to VM so I left a message. When I called the other number listed I spoke with the owner (so my fourth contact attempt) to be answered and advised I had not signed the pre-check in! In mitigation the message advising of the code notification made no reference to this deal-breaker. If this was outstanding why wasn’t I chased? Zero comms until I’m in the car outside the property. There was also zero emotional intelligence from the owner, just a statement of why needed to be done. I felt like I was dealing with a chat-bot.
