Hiking break

The silence and peace, large room with big glass windows, so woke up to the most beautiful views. Could hear the jackal’s at night, it is so silent that a bird flapping its wings sounded very loud. Property was fully fenced so could simply relax whilst my pup explored. It’s a small farm where they grow herbs and such. Lovely patio off the room where one can relax and just be. There is a BBQ stand and fire wood. I will be back without a doubt, it’s my happy place away from the world, but I will arrive better prepared.

Dousing a place in harsh chemicals and cleaning products does not make it clean and defiantly not hypoallergenic. Struggled with asthma due to the overdose of chemicals, even my dog was wheezing. Not cool. There is not a kitchenette, it’s a small glass table with a couple of mugs and dog bowls, 1 x teaspoon, a fridge and a small microwave that could possibly warm something if you try hard enough and a kettle. There is no stove top as advertised, there is no utensil’s (I found some plastic spoons in the cleaning cupboard of all places, if that counts). There is a filthy pair of bbq tongs outside if that counts as a utensil and if you very brave. There is no outside furniture, I dragged the small table and chair outside from the bedroom, not very comfortable, I eventually threw my dogs blankets and bedding outside and we sat on that. Frankly, I do not care about any of that, BUT they should be honest in the advertising of the place so that one can arrive there prepared as there is no take out. It’s one thing to tell me to “bring your own food” as there is no stores close, but if there is not the basics to prepare, serve or cut food with be honest about it. Yes, I will be back, just better prepared, now that I know. Also as a tip, do take those burning insect repellents or table fan or net things as there is a lot of flies in the day (latter could be seasonable)

Absolute gem in the mountains! Very peaceful, beautiful landscape, and very authentic. Lots of hiking trails and viewpoints nearby. Just remember to bring food and everything else you need as the closest shops are a bit of a drive.

This place is a gem. Very quiet in the mountains and all the amenities: fridge, kettle, microwave, coffee machine, barbecue, AC, heater and WiFi. It was also very clean. Sultan, the owner is lovely and extremely helpful. I would just suggest to drive slowly on the way as I was driving at average speed and got a flat tire, thankfully Sultan and Nasser helped me. Definitely a must do in the UAE if you want peace and quiet.
