Staff were amazing, well maintained and must say we got to experience a true traditional ryokan. Location was great with shuttle service from train station. My wife and I had a good rest and hope to be back again.

Dinner served in your room and breakfast was outstanding. Staff was so nice and attentive, they even helped dry our wet shoes from the snow. They left a card and some socks for souvenirs, it was incredibly touching and thoughtful. Highly recommend this beautiful place to stay.
Nearby area does not have many shops/attractions, but it not a concern as we recommend to stay in the lodging the whole day.
