Yuri Big House

Loved the view, the terras, the bath, the gym, the location, and the peaceful neighbourhood, with kind neighbours, farm animals, and family farm fields around us. Loved the big kitchen too!

The bed in the second bedroom was good, but a bit hard. We could feel the springs of the mattresses. The ground floor and first floor of the apartment were very clean, but the basement (with gym and extra shower) was a little bit less clean, with a sticky floor in the shower. The apartment was for 6 people, but on the couch we could barely relax comfortably with 4 people. Since the weather was a bit fresh we had to spend some time inside. Perhaps two extra comfy chairs inside could be something to be considered?

We really enjoyed our stay at Yuri Big House! The views were absolutely breathtaking — panoramic sea and garden vistas from the terrace that made every sunset special. It’s one of the best parts of the property and perfectly captures what makes Madeira so magical. The amenities were excellent: the villa is well-equipped with a modern kitchen, comfortable bedrooms, the gym was a nice touch, laundry facilities handy, and plenty of space indoors and out for relaxing or meals. Everything felt clean, functional, and thought-out for guests. The location is convenient too — central enough for easy access to shops, supermarkets, and exploring the island without being in the middle of hustle.

One downside for us was the fake/artificial grass in the garden/terrace area. It looked neat and low-maintenance, but it felt unnatural underfoot (especially compared to Madeira’s lush natural landscapes), and we prefer real grass for outdoor lounging or kids playing if applicable. Not a deal-breaker, but worth mentioning for others who might care about that.

La maison est située non loin de Funchal mais au calme à la campagne. La maison est très spacieuse, récente et impeccablement propre. Le grand garage est un plus, car nous avions un SUV, donc très pratique. Vue dégagée sur la mer; il y a une route qui passe devant mais il n’y a quasiment pas de circulation. Nous avons eu tous les équipements dont nous avons eu besoin (linges de bain, vaisselle, coussins d’extérieur…etc). La personne de contact est très disponible et nous a donné pas mal de conseils utiles. Nous avons passé un superbe séjour à Madère !

On peut entendre les aboiements des chiens la nuit, mais je pense que c’est pareil partout sur l’île…et pour notre part cela ne nous a pas dérangé.

Der Kunstrasen ist etwas gewohnungsbdürftig, äusseres Garagentor hat teilweise nicht geöffnet, wird aber überprüft .. nicht mit Unterkunft, aber der Platz, wo man seinen Abfall in Containern entsorgen kann (ca300 m weg) ist eine wilde Mülldeponie geworden, sollte von der Gemeinde entsorgt werden)..
