La Platea de Bs As 2A1 Live by the Palacio Libertad

Lovely old-style apartment in the middle of the city center! The place is furnished with strong, sturdy wooden furniture, there is air-con in both rooms and the two balconies face the lovely Palacio Liberdad (the old post-office building). The closest grocery store (Dia) is small but has everything you need and the subway station is literally just around the corner from the front door. It is a very safe area, even after dark, as Palacio Liberdad often is open late for various public events. When we arrived, we found that the washing machine did not work. Something had short-circuited the power outlet and it looked like it had had a small mini-fire at some point. The owner replied to me as soon as I sent them some pictures, and they had an electrician there together with the building's handy man the same evening, in spite of it being Friday! Issues happen all the time when you travel, and what I judge the owner on is how well they handle the situation. In this case the owner handled it well above expectation! Their communication was excellent, their response was perfect and the solution was speedy.

As the building is old, everything is old. The kitchen is small and the power outlet can only be used by appliance at a time, which means you cannot use the kettle for tea while you are cooking on the stove, but this is part of the charm of staying in these older buildings. The class wall between the kitchen/dining/living space and the bedroom makes it impossible for one person to be up at night if the other one wants to sleep. The light from the living area lights up the entire bedroom as there is no way to cover the class wall from the ceiling light.
