Azul Beach Resort

It was small and cosy

Pool was too warm and the owner was always on his deck having meetings with other men and talking! That was off putting .

Having the pool was wonderful as the beach isn’t swimmable from the hotel. The staff were nice and communicated when there was an issue with the water delivery.

We had no car or motorbike so had to walk to the main beach. It wasn’t a great place to be walking on the side of the roads.

Great little resort. Very comfy cabins, right on the beach (beach isn't for swimming, but made for a beautiful backdrop!) Interesting pool, bigger and deeper than it appears in the photos, great for a refreshing dip. About a 10-15 minute walk into Fisherman's Village (along the busy road in case that is of concern) Room was designed really beautifully, the seating area on the deck area was great. We did not have a chance to eat onsite, but lots of cute spots to enjoy drinks or a meal. Overall, a very cute resort with a great view right from your bed.

Needed at 3000 Bhat deposit that could only be given in cash. This was inconvenient for us as we were departing on the last day. Not a huge deal, but was an annoying start to an otherwise perfect stay.

Azul Beach Resort was overall an average stay for us. The biggest positives were definitely the excellent beachfront location and the air conditioning, which worked extremely well and made the room very comfortable in the Thailand heat. While the resort served its purpose and the location was beautiful, the overall experience did not particularly stand out compared to other places we stayed during our trip. It was a decent stay, but not one that left a lasting impression.

The biggest disappointment for us, and likely the reason we would not return, was the overall pool and cabana experience. The pool itself was oddly warm and never felt cool or refreshing like a pool should in a tropical destination. Instead of being a place to relax and cool off, it was uncomfortable to use during the heat of the day. Additionally, while the cabanas and décor looked beautiful and high-end in the online photos, in person many of the furnishings and finishes felt cheaply made and already showed significant wear. Several items appeared to be falling apart or not functioning well after what seemed like only moderate guest use. The property has great potential because the location itself is beautiful. If the resort revamped the pool experience to make it truly refreshing and invested in higher-quality cabana furnishings and décor that could better withstand guest use, it could become a much stronger overall experience.
