The Space:
Forest Farm Tiny House by Tiny Away is nestled in the rural beauty of Whakamarama, North Island New Zealand's Bay of Plenty. It sits next to a charming barn with stunning views across rolling pastures and forests, stretching to Mount Maunganui and the vast open ocean.
Within a short drive, you'll find Tauranga's sandy beaches and the serene Waipapa River, winding through Kaimai Mamaku Forest Park. Mount Maunganui Ocean Beach is also just a quick drive away, with Hamilton and the scenic Waikato region an hour's drive from here. Nearby attractions include the majestic Wairere Falls, the scenic Te Puna Quarry Park, and the peaceful McLaren Falls Park.
A cozy 139-square-foot tiny home with easy water access, split air conditioning, a kitchenette, cooking equipment, and excellent bathroom facilities. These amenities include a flush toilet, hand basin, and shower (gas-heated for hot showers) for you to use.
IMPORTANT NOTE: We would like to inform you that this accommodation is a farm stay with farm animals on site, which sometimes creates noise. If you're not an early riser, we recommend bringing earplugs.
Guest Access:
Guests have access to the tiny home and can explore the farm with their hosts' permission. However, guests will not be allowed to enter paddocks where the cows are grazing or enter farm buildings.

In Tauranga, Waimarino Water & Adventure Park offers family fun on the Wairoa River, while McLaren Falls Park is ideal for camping, kayaking, fishing, and evening glow worm walks.
Te Puna Quarry Park Gardens provides a scenic setting with orchids, ponds, and sculptures, often used for weddings and celebrations. For a relaxed coastal experience, Omokoroa in the Bay of Plenty offers beaches, walkways, and golf in a laid-back village atmosphere.

- All are reachable by 2WD.

- Gas or Charcoal BBQ grills are available to use
- No unregistered guests or visitors are allowed
- Spark has good signal reception, the rest have weak signal
- No smoking allowed inside the tiny home, except in designated areas
- Farm experience is subject to the host's availability and by prior notice
- We would like to advise guests that longer stays or later check-outs will incur an additional charge.

This is one of the best tiny home accommodation experiences. The tiny home itself is very modern and all the minor details and extras were much appreciated!
Located on a farm that makes you feel like you really are in New Zealand! The outdoor fire brazier was a nice touch, bbq available to use as well
Clean quality linens and a comfy bed meant a good night's sleep. Good hot water system for the shower and kitchen too
This is the perfect place to feel like you're in a rural location, but still close enough to all the amenities and only 20mins from Tauranga city centre
Big thank you to the amazing hosts - we asked to look around the farm and the hosts treated us like family! we got to meet the farm animals and see a private bush walk reserve located on this property
We recommend others to get in touch with the hosts, who are very nice people. They improved our stay here from simply a place to sleep to a genuine New Zealand rural experience. Their bush walk and nature reserve was a big highlight.
