Hamam Suites Sifaka

Housed in one of Chania's lovely old buildings and located in a quieter part of the old town (but still only steps from bars/cafes/shops). Check-in was quick and easy, lots of communication from the host prior to our visit. The shower was wonderful, and we loved the little balcony which is great for drying washing or relaxing/people watching in the early morning or late afternoon. Whilst not cheap compared to other places we stayed on our trip, we appreciated that it was in a much more touristy area than we'd previously visited, so is probably a fair price.

The location was amazing, 2 minute walk from the harbour, we loved sitting on the balcony and people watching. The music from below did not bother us as we were supplied with ear plugs and you could barely hear it once the doors were shut and the air con was on. You definitely could not feel any “bass” as other people had complained (they are being dramatic). It was clean and easy to find. Very unique with lots of character.

The bed was super uncomfortable, hard and could feel the springs, the host messaged after the first night asking how we slept and if there is anything they can do or changes they can make (which I thought was brilliant) so I informed them the bed is extremely uncomfortable and hurt my back, asked if they had a mattress topper or anything they can add to improve it, they just ignored my message and I didn’t hear from them for the rest of the holiday. I resorted to using a roll Matt and cushions from a chair we found outside our room door to make it more comfy (this confined me to a slither of the bed). There was also water constantly leaking on the balcony and we couldn’t figure out why. The bed being uncomfy would stop me from booking again, if you don’t mind a harder bed then this might not be an issue for you.
