Lovely owners, excellent location, basic accommodation

The owners of Luna y Mar are very lovely people, very helpful! The location is excellent, only a 10 min walk away from the Zocalo! Mercado 22.Nov (for food) is close by as well. The room was very spacious, could have easily fit 3 people. Very clean! Everything was there, small kitchenette, chair table, some sort of sofa.

It is a "cash-only" place! The room I was in was very basic. The bathroom/ shower Combo is quite small. There was not much effort wasted on making it cozy. I had some issues with having no water in the morning for two days in a row, but Angel tried to fix it right away. Bring your own drinking water and shampoo. The road outside is quite noisy, but since I always travel with earplugs, it didn't bother me too much! Next time I would invest more money to have a bit more amenities.

Cute little guesthouse with central location. Mario the owner is super chill. Even got me some local herbs to make tea out of when i fell a little sick. Definitely reccomended!

Lovely hosts and great value stay

The hosts were there to greet me with a smile and made me feel so welcome, the facilities were good and I had everything I needed. They emptied the bins and replace the toilet paper often throughout the day which kept everything clean 😊 they were always on hand if I needed any help. The location was walking distance to the centre. I’d recommend this stay

Budget friendly, safe, clean

It was near the Zocalo. The room was big, clean, and nice. Balcony opening to the street. There was a fan. Safe, quiet. Kitchen with a stove, microwave, coffeemaker, fridge, utensils and vessels.

No desk in the room. The shared bathroom was not clean. Wifi was not good in the room.

Welcoming my brother to Oaxaca

Great value for the price. A comfortable, private room with quality beds (2). A nice shared area with one other guest. Ability to cook and store food. Located 5 minutes walk from historic center, hosted by a very friendly and warm family who makes you feel like home while respecting your space.

I booked here again later in my trip. Oaxaca is a city with a lot of energy and spirit.

Location was good, close to a market where one could find good value food easily. The room was nice. Oaxaca is a really nice city, I especially enjoyed the music from wedding celebrations with jazz bands and calenda dancers in the streets. There is a lot of positive atmosphere in the streets. There were a lot of lovely flowering trees in the city when I went.

When I first arrived I was a bit confused and found it tricky to be sure I was knocking on the right door. It doesn't look like a hotel. The shower was weak, everything else worked fine but I was not impressed by the shower.

A privilege to spend 2 weeks in Oaxaca Vity.

It's on the edge of the historic centre, an easy 15 minute walk from the Zócalo. Not the tourist side. Everything is close by, including the markets. Lots of light and air in the apartment. Absolute basics needed to make meals. Good fridge. Fan in the room if it gets hot. Big window doors onto a small balcony adds appeal.

There's a water shortage in Oaxaca City and the hostess was very concerned, monitoring water use closely. Even when I assured here that coming from Cape Town, South Africa, i was more aware and careful than most. It is a real issue in Oaxaca. The building across the road had Installed bright security lights that shine into the guest rooms and the curtains are not adequate to block it out. The apartment is shared - there are two rooms. 3 other guests stayed while i was there - one smoked on her balcony, which came in to my room. Also quite a noisy road meant keeping those doors shut tightly. The area is on the downside of town, with shops and businesses that shut afterr 6.00, so walking the last 2 blocks after dark had a bit of tension to it. Though probably not really a problem Once in the apartment it felt secure and pleasant.

J’ai tout aimé. C’est un hébergement parfait. Pour vraiment pas cher,vous avez une grande chambre, de la place pour les vêtements,un lit et de la literie super confortable, de l’eau chaude dans la douche ,un espace cuisine partagé: frigo,rond de poêle, eau potable,vaisselle, etc. Tout est bien entretenu et propre.En prime vous avez 2 personnes extraordinaires: Ángel et Luisa,qui vous recevront avec gentillesse,aide,conseils et attention. N’hésitez pas une seconde.

Yo visito a mi hijo y su familia en Oaxaca cada año, que es el único momento que podemos ambas familias, está vez reserve en el "hotel" Luna y Mar, craso error, llegamos, yo solicite una entrada temprano, llegamos a Oaxaca a las 7AM y ellos la reconocieron, llegamos y todavía estaba el huésped anterior hasta las 12PM pues tuvimos que ir a perder el tiempo mientras esperábamos, la sra bastante ruda, mi hijo vino a visitarme y casi lo corrió diciendo que no se aceptaban visitas, luego cuando llegábamos nos espiaban por su ventana, nos dejaban sin agua, al último apagaron el calentador, el último día, incluso me cobraron limpieza que nunca hubo, si de verdad aguantan esto, reserven aquí. Solo recuerden: lo barato sale (muy) caro. La verdad los señores no tienen la más remota idea de como es un servicio de hotel, me sentí absolutamente incómodo, y para despedirnos nos cerraron el agua caliente, mi hija se tuvo que bañar con agua fría, pero como no tenía ánimos de pedir nada más, mejor ya nos salimos. Ahí ustedes deciden.

No es la mejor zona para disfrutar de una ciudad tan linda

La familia es muy amable y atenta, hay solo dos habitaciones grandes, un baño compartido y una cocina con todo el esencial.

El lugar está entre el mercado y las terminales de buses, una posición bastante fea, no me sentí segura ni de día ni menos de noche. Además el ruido de la calle se siente muy fuerte. No es una zona que recomendaría para disfrutar de la ciudad, hay otras mucho más lindas, seguras y tranquilas. Y el baño compartido estuvo sucio por los 3 días que me quedé. Lo siento mucho por la familia porque son lindos pero a mi me hubiera gustado leer una reseña como esta antes de reservar, especialmente como chica estranjera que viaja sola.
