Such a beautiful country house. Lots of space, clean and tidy. We had an issue with hot water and the owner came within half hour to sort it for us, and was very polite and friendly.

The property is spacious, spotlessly clean, and very well equipped, ideal for our group of eight spanning three generations, plus our dogs. There was plenty of room to come together as a family, but also enough space for everyone to have a bit of quiet time when needed. The courtyard garden with the Jacuzzi was a lovely social spot, while the side garden offered a more peaceful area to relax or play games. It suited all ages really well and made for a very comfortable and enjoyable stay.

We chose this property primarily for its proximity to the fabulous local pub, which had been a big draw for our group. Unfortunately, it wasn’t communicated in advance that, due to a road closure for the rest of 2025, the pub is no longer easily accessible by foot or car. The only options were a steep and narrow 30-minute walk or a 30-minute drive. With two of our party having mobility issues, this meant we were unable to enjoy the pub as planned, something that would have influenced our decision to book had we known. A few small touches could have enhanced the stay: a welcome folder with clear instructions for amenities like the dishwasher and Jacuzzi, larger or extra towels, and a mat for the kitchen area, which became slippery and wet after using the Jacuzzi. It was also unclear whether the BBQ in the parking area was for guest use. I texted the owner for clarification but received no response. I also contacted Sykes for recommendations on local grocery delivery options and didn’t hear back. (We ended up using Tesco).
