Golden Tree Hotel Belize

This is an older hotel with minor defects in the furniture and other items, but nothing terrible and that had a very nice two person Jacuzzi tub that worked very well aside from the fact that the hotel’s water isn’t quite hot enough for our taste so we had to use the electric tea kettle three or four times and add that to get it hot But it comes out hot enough for some people. The hotel free breakfast was actually really good compared to any other free breakfast we’ve had as the meat lovers had endless sausages and the vegetarians had vegan black beans and vegetarians had scrambled eggs that were really well seasoned fry jacks Fresh fruit, and a lot of other things that made for a very versatile filling breakfast that will carry you most of the day included with your stay. The gymnasium actually had very high quality, exercise, exercise equipment, and a lot of of it and took up most of one floor of the hotel. The swimming pool was actually a pretty nice pool And had sitting areas around it out of the sun and is located right on the roof with a nice view of the city in the ocean. The biggest problem we had was figuring out how to get the water, hot enough in the tub and that the toilet seat wiggled around more than I liked, but that’s about it so for the price we were charged they did a very nice job and the staff was very friendly and tried hard to accommodate. They do serve lunch or dinner, but it’s a somewhat limited menu that may or may not appeal to you and in a much smaller café as they don’t have near as many people come to that is the huge breakfast buffet, but the prices were OK and the food was well seasoned and large portions in the café

We liked everything about this. the beds were comfortables. the pillow were large and fluffy, and the parking was safe and substantial. There are stores nearby and places to eat. It offers an airport shuttle. Very nice place to stay with breakfast included; what more could you ask for?

Relaxed peaceful hotel, out of town but only a short bus ride from downtown. Had everything I needed for a few days, good breakfast and burgers for dinner, refreshing roof top pool, good shower and bed- lovely staff. Unfortunately the taxi driver utilised by the hotel is unpleasant and tries to charge 3x more than the hotel quotes: suggest the hotel should use an alternative driver!

The hotel is fine. But for the same cost you can stay at the Radisson, Ramada, or Fort George etc one of the nicer properties in the area. The staff at Golden Tree is the bright spot. Sink leaked in bathroom. Shower head didn’t attach to wall. AC quit working in several areas. Which is fine…unless you book because a property specifically advertises having AC in rooms / gym etc. Overall it was fine.
