We've stayed here twice before as the location is brilliant, beds very comfortable, good value for money and downstairs nice and cool in hot weather.
More knives - only four provided so didn't use the dishwasher much as we would have been without cutlery. The front door was very tricky and difficult to secure the upper and lower doors together. Liked the split door though with a dog.

Perfect location The beds were very comfortable and good quality pillows
There was nothing to dislike as such. Pity there wasn’t sky tv other than free view but hardly the end of the world.

The house was clean and there are aspects which are great like the bedrooms upstairs are nice and spacious and the shower pressure is fantastic. The kitchen is well stocked although it would be nice if they had some touches like coffee sachets etc as generally you’re not staying for very long periods of time and this could be helpful. The location is great, you have a farm shop which does a delicious breakfast almost next door and a very good curry house across the street. There is also a pub nearby but we didn’t try it. Hartington is a lovely little place.
I was quite disappointed about the damp in the downstairs areas. The smell hits you as you come downstairs/come in from a day out. The oven is a bit tricky to use but we got there in end after about 30min of fiddling. The sofa in the living room also looks like it could do with a clean. The property also has some snagging issues like there are no hooks to hang up towels etc, some doors don’t latch properly, and by the front door there is some unfinished work above the frame. The front door is a barn door however you have to do it in two bits as they are not aligned. The extractor fan in the bathroom could do with a clean as it is caked in dust. The driveway coming up to the house is also not very attractive, there is a skip full of building materials (but suppose that’s quite minor on the grand scheme of things). I am not posting photos of the good bits as they are all displayed on the website so I am highlighting the damp in the living room and kitchen and the walk to the cottage just so future occupants know what you expect.
