House of the Sun in Trastevere

The House of the Sun apartment in Trastevere is very centrally placed to have convenient walking access to all of Rome’s historical centre monuments, plazas, and churches. The old building outside hides a modern apartment inside that is furnished with gusto and has all modern amenities, such as AC, TV, lockbox, fully equipped kitchen, washing machine, and a modern bathroom adding to the comfortable and relaxing bed. The whole package provides an oasis from the busy daily walks in Rome and a place to rest and recharge. Marcello, the owner was very friendly and gave us many tips on where to eat and shop during our stay. He is an excellent communicator, replying almost instantly to any question you may have. Highly recommended place! I would choose to stay here, if possible, every time I visit Rome in the years to come. I have also recommended this place to friends in Europe for their possible future plans.

Only minor thing of note is the fact that this unit is located on the 2nd floor and there is no elevator, so depending on your physical capacity and age you should factor this in your decision. The stairs did not bother us, since we climbed many more stairs in our daily explorations of this glorious city.

Lovely light filled apartment. Very comfortable bed.

Location was a little bit noisy at night. Mainly local restaurants emptying bottle bins.

Best neighborhood in Rome! Marcello is such a wonderful host. He made sure we had everything we needed and was very attentive. This apartment is comfortable and quiet in a lively area.

It’s a great apartment but there are stairs so make sure you’re able to climb a few flights.
