MOTOGO Hostel

You know that saying about saving the best for last? Well, it happened! This was the best and last hostel I stayed in during my 86-day trip to Vietnam. It can never be called a hostel; it has all the structure and feel of a hotel. Huge room, comfortable bed, large, comfortable, and clean bathrooms. Excellent service and close to everything in the airport area.

It's as I always say. 95% of the problems in hostels aren't the hostels themselves, but the guests. Since it's a transit hostel near the airport, the flow of people is very high, so the greater the number of people, the greater the likelihood of having filthy and rude guests, and this one broke the record. Being rude is your choice, but being filthy is a characteristic. It's a shame there aren't male dorms, only mixed and female dorms, but even the women can't stand being with other women, according to them, they prefer to stay in the mixed dorms. They slam doors, talk on the phone in the middle of the night, throw trash on the floor – lamentable! It would be good if the guests also had ratings; then we could separate the filthy from the clean, the polite from the rude. Oh well, I love staying in hostels and I'll continue to do so; a small percentage of filthy people won't make me change.

I stayed here because I had an early flight, and it’s very convenient for that. As expected with an airport hostel, people come and go during the night. The bed was nice and the pillow was really comfortable, which made it easy to rest before travelling.

The women’s shower room door was always left open, which didn’t feel very private. There were also no hot food options available at the hostel or nearby, and you can’t even grab something like McDonald’s close by, which was a bit inconvenient.

A nice place to stay, with a great location near the airport and a couple up-country bus companies nearby if you're beyond Hanoi. Facilities were clean, beds were large and comfortable, and the staff were helpful and friendly.

My only note is that the facility could use more lockers, as there is only half as many lockers as beds. But the staff were very kind in trying to resolve this.

So close to the airport. Nice communal area downstairs. Lots of showers. Comfortable bed.
