Le Particulier - Centre ville de Bordeaux

Excellent location right in the very centre of Bordeaux’s shopping area. Very safe area with everything literally on the doorstep. Lots of bars and restaurants nearby. Modern apartment with comfortable beds and lots of facilities. Air conditioning in the main room excellent in the 37 degree heat of Bordeaux! Great communication with Jean Christophe (he was amazing with meeting us and showing us the apartment).

We had an issue with the neighbours- one night at 10pm they knocked on the door and said there was a water leak in their apartment below and wanted to look at where it could be coming from. We were reluctant to let them in and the only ‘emergency’ number was closed. We had to send an email! We were also not keen on the lift opening up into the appartment- although a key was needed to get to the 4th floor and it appeared to be a safe system, it felt slightly vulnerable and as a woman I would not have liked to been alone in the appartment. The cleaning was also not brilliant- bits on the rug, dust in corners and under the bed. The outside terrace space was lovely but it was also the point of extraction for the air conditioning unit so blew how air constantly onto the small terrace- meaning it was rendered unusable as a way to get away from the heat in the evening! The smallest room was very small- the photos are deceiving and the sloping roof made it feel a bit claustrophobic- I wouldn’t want you to stay in there as an adult but it was fine for a child. We couldn’t get the TV to work- even our teenager gave up (Disney/ Netflix needed a password).

Th location of this property has to be the biggest selling point to anyone visiting Bordeaux who wants to be bang in the middle of the old town quarter with ease of access to walk, tram or bus anywhere nearby . Another significant factor for this apartment was that it has its own private terrace which is secluded and peaceful. Within the property all your needs are catered with a real home from home feel.

We were a group of 4 women and while the two double bedrooms were spacious it would have been better for one of the rooms to have two single beds as opposed to two of the friends sharing a double bed. Two single beds would definitely have made our stay more pleasant. There is also only one toilet and shower/bath which was fine however a wash hand basin in the toilet (that was separate from the bathroom) would improve the toilet facilities .
