About this house rental

Cawarra on the Park has been lovingly restored to its former glory yet contains all the features of modern living. Ideal for groups of 10 travelling to Mudgee for a wedding, family get-together or weekend wine-tasting, this home offers a central location opposite Lawson Park and a short stroll to Mudgee’s celebrated coffee shops, restaurants and vineyards. Enjoy the luxury of five king suites, as well as a gourmet kitchen, shaded courtyard, and a welcoming gas fireplace.
Exuding the luxury and charm of a bygone era, Cawarra on the Park is an elegant Victorian home located in the vibrant heart of Mudgee. Built in 1866, "Cawarra" is an Aboriginal word meaning, ‘beside running water’, drawing to obvious links with the Cudgegong River, found opposite the house in Lawson Park.

The home's story-book façade creates a striking first impression with a secluded courtyard garden with magnificent old trees and brick pathways. Complete with original tall cedar French doors on the verandah to find light-filled interiors that seamlessly blend classic and contemporary styles.

The gourmet chef’s kitchen is a cook’s delight. It's fully equipped offering a butler's pantry, double electric oven, full-sized fridge and freezer, Nespresso machine, and a dishwasher for easy clean up. The long refectory table seats all guests for meals in a relaxed setting, or make your way out to the fenced courtyard. Fire up the BBQ and dine alfresco with family and friends, or simply soak up the serenity over your morning coffee or an evening wine. A formal living area features a large TV and ample seating around the gas fireplace to enjoy cosy movie nights at home.

There are five king bedrooms all with their own ensuite bathroom—three bathrooms with underfloor heating and all with heated towel racks. Central, ducted heating and cooling throughout keep temperatures comfortable while you sleep. The main bathroom offers dual access to bedroom four—which can be customised along with the fifth bedroom to create a king bed or two singles upon request.

Laundry facilities, including a washing machine and dryer, cater to longer stays. Two to three cars can park on the driveway, with additional parking available on the street.

We have stayed here in 2022 and had a wonderful experience, so it was no surprise that we again enjoyed the hospitality of this exquisite accommodation. So close to the centre of town and easy walking distance to shops and restaurants. We were visited by a family of wrens and a pair of king parrots. The accommodation is excellent with a possible 5 king beds with each room is a mondern bathroom. All the beds have electric blankets and of course there is a gas fireplace in the longe. The kitchen is fully equipped and a welcome basket of wine greats you on your arrival. Thank you so much for another memorable weekend. I look forward to spending more time in this lovely, well maintained home in the future. Definitely recommend
