We stayed in Malta in November for 7 nights.
First of all, all praises to the hosts! They were extremely helpful and ready to answer every question and request.
The location of the apartment is perfect. In the same street, there is a 24/7 supermarket, a pleasant local cafe, two restaurants, and a coffee shop, while a bakery with traditional Maltese pastries is in the next street over. The promenade, with its restaurants and various other amenities, is just 5-minute walk away.
The bus line to Valletta is also in the next street, while more transport options and the Ferry are max 10 minute walk away. For those who enjoy walking, Gzira is ideal because you can reach both Valletta and St. Julian's via a well-maintained promenade (about a 30-40 minute walk).
The apartment was clean and equipped with everything needed for a short stay, including two power adapters.
We were very satisfied, we would recommend this apartment to everyone and would definitely come back again!
Even though we were on the 7th floor, traffic noise from outside could be heard. I can't hold this against the hosts, as every place we visited in Malta was noisy. There are too many people and the traffic is so dense that noise is simply unavoidable. But, you get used to it 😁

Great view and a very convenient location — plenty of shops and eating places nearby, and an easy walk to the main bus stop. The apartment itself is spacious, very clean, and comfortable. Key pickup instructions were refreshingly simple, and our stay was blissfully undisturbed by neighbors (always a win). A special shout-out for the international plug adaptors in almost every outlet — a small detail that made a big difference. Overall, a very comfortable base for our stay.
The tourist tax (€0.50 per person per night) had to be paid separately at reception. Two small issues with that: first, I would normally expect this to be added directly to the bill; second, the reception only operated for a few hours a day, and somehow we never managed to meet it in person — a bit like a mythical creature.
The AC in the living room didn’t work in heating mode, which made the coldest days of our stay… character-building. The washing machine was extremely loud, sounding like it might be possessed by a mildly angry demon. And while we didn’t really watch TV, it’s worth noting that it’s still satellite-only — in an era where Netflix (or similar) has been standard for about 5–6 years now.
