RUSO'S GuestHouse

We had a wonderful stay at Ruso’s guesthouse, one of those places that gives real meaning to travelling. The house is a beautiful traditional Svan home, renovated with great respect for its original character, with wood, stone, lovely carved furniture, a fireplace and beautiful wooden balconies overlooking the mountains. Our room was spacious, charming and full of character. But what makes this guesthouse truly special is Ruso herself. She is incredibly kind, warm and welcoming, and puts so much passion and hard work into this place while also taking care of her animals and daily life in the mountains. We really enjoyed the little moments spent talking with her and learning more about life in Svaneti. And the food was fantastic! Dinner was a real Georgian and Svan feast, with lobio, kubdari, ajapsandali, pkhali, eggplant with walnuts, homemade soup and more. Generous, traditional and absolutely delicious from beginning to end. Breakfast was excellent too, generous and made with lovely homemade products — exactly what you need before another day of hiking! If you are simply looking for somewhere to sleep along the trek, there are plenty of guesthouses. But if you are looking for a house with a soul, a genuine human encounter and a glimpse of authentic Svaneti life, stay with Ruso. We left with wonderful memories and would come back without hesitation. ❤️

Ruso er en fantastisk vært. Hun er sød, god til engelsk og gav os meget god information. Yderligere hentede hun os i Adishi, da vi ikke havde et sted at sove. Hendes homestay vil jeg anbefale til alle

Wonderful welcome from host Ruso in a picturesque and peaceful setting. Lots of lovely tasty homemade and homegrown food, generously served, and guests ate together in the kitchen which gave a nice family atmosphere. Absolutely authentic traditional country house. We'd be happy to go back any time.

People with mobility issues should be aware that some of the steps are rather high. The Google map directions were inaccurate, and the location shown too far west: ignore and approach instead from Cholashi.
