Glimra eco lodge

Het verblijf ligt midden in de natuur, het is prachtig en het is prachtig groen. Er zijn veel dieren in de omgeving en om de lodge te zien, heel mooi. Je kan met een vissersman het meer op om allerlei dieren te zien, zoals allerlei vogels, waterbuffels en olifanten. Ook is de gastvrijheid is heel goed, er werd heerlijk gekookt! Ook wordt je, als je wil, meegenomen in het lokale leven, kan je mee naar de markt en samen koken. Roshani en haar man zijn erg lief. Het is echt een ervaring!

Het is een eco lodge, dus er kunnen dieren binnen komen, de wifi doet het niet zo goed en de douche is koud, maar dat is geen probleem, want het is erg warm.

Hele unieke locatie aan het meer. Prachtige bootsafari gedaan met een lokale visser. Roshani en haar man zijn hele lieve gepassioneerde mensen die een prachtige lodge hebben gemaakt. Geweldige ervaring die je gedaan moet hebben als je in Sri Lanka bent.

Eigenlijk niets! Enige tip die we hebben is dat een extra lampje in het huisje fijn zou zijn. Je weet dat je wat meer back to basic gaat dus het is goed om te weten dat je geen warm water hebt. Voor ons past dit helemaal bij een eco-lodge dus vonden we geen probleem, maar het is wel goed om dit te weten voor dat je boekt.

Een prachtige locatie met een ontzettend lieve en gastvrije eigenaar die heerlijk kan koken. Deze plek moet je bezoeken als je in Sri lanka bent! Een uniek plekje aan een mooi water en een prachtig gebouwd huisje. Er zit een mooi verhaal achter het opzetten van deze locatie. Ook zeker mee het water op gaan met een vissersmannetje!

A hidden gem! This tiny, simple lodge is perfect for those seeking to connect with nature and experience personable Sri-Lankan hospitality. My wife and I stayed there for two nights, and we loved it. The location is amazing. The property is in a sparsely populated area adjacent to the National Park, so you feel you're pretty much in the middle of the jungle. Our room was literally meters away from a beautiful lake that attracts many birds, peacocks, and quite a few monkeys. Early in the morning, you can hear the jungle waking up with all its intensity– such a lovely experience. I had a nice swim at the lake, and the water was pleasant. Roshani, the young owner of the place, was super friendly and helpful. The way she treated us made us feel like guests staying at a friend's place, rather than in a hotel. When my wife felt ill with the flu, Roshani sent her husband to buy her medicine, and was always attentive to see how she was feeling. She helped us arrange a tuk-tuk to get to the National Park, as well as the Jeep ride inside the park. Her homemade food was delicious– among the best we've had in Sri Lanka. If you stay here, I highly recommend taking the lake safari. Roshani arranged it for us and was super affordable. A local fisherman in a canoe picked us up early in the morning and took us for an hour and a half ride around the lake. We saw many types of birds, and while we didn't see any wild elephants, they told us that it's not uncommon to spot them bathing. Overall, we had a very comfortable stay, but do keep in mind this is a very simple, austere lodge. There is no wifi or luxury of any type, but that's kind of the point!
