Miskaa Nubian House

We had a fantastic stay at Miskaa Nubian House. Everything was perfect – the accommodation, the food, the beautiful location and the excellent service, including the boat transfers. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, especially the lovely breakfast team. A special thank you to Yousef and Medhat, who went above and beyond to make our stay memorable. One of the highlights was their recommendation to visit Bob Marley’s Café on the island for sunset and freshly hand-roasted coffee – a truly special experience! We felt very welcome and can wholeheartedly recommend Miskaa Nubian House. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

There is just one small point we would like to share as constructive feedback. As travellers, we really appreciate discovering the authentic side of Egypt – its people, traditions and genuine hospitality. Unfortunately, this can sometimes be difficult when shopping experiences turn into organised tourist sales presentations, often with prices that feel far removed from local reality. We experienced this during our visit to the spice shop at the market. We had hoped for an authentic local shopping experience, with some trusted advice to help us find good quality at fair prices, rather than a tourist-oriented sales situation. We understand that tourism is an important source of income, but what visitors like us value most is honesty, trust and the feeling of being treated as guests rather than potential customers. This is not meant to take away from our wonderful stay. Quite the opposite – we share it because we genuinely appreciated the hospitality in Egypt and believe that authentic, pressure-free experiences are what make Egypt truly special.

The property is vey peaceful; you have to reach it by boat. It is run by several members of a friendly Nubian family. Once there, there is absolutely nothing to do; you go there to unwind with a good book and rest. The views are lovely, given it’s situated right on the waterside.

The menu was very limited, but everything was freshly made. It would have been nice to have a greater choice of food and drink. There were no towel rails and only a tiny mirror in the bathroom. It was rustic which added to its charm but could have been improved with one or two more niceties.
