The house was clean and spacing was good. There is enough bedding and gathering areas for our family trip. The kids enjoyed the upstairs game room and tv. Location was a close 5 minutes drive to the ski slopes.
I wanted to like it more, but there were too many issues with the house and maintenance that would deter me from booking the Bear Cave again. We had no hand soap, little toilet paper, and only 2 laundry pods. The host said housekeeping would come to bring TP and hand soap but never did. She ended up sending me money to buy our own at the store. The kitchen items were sparse. No ladle. No plastic cooking utensils for nonstick pots/pans. Little oven pans/sheets. No sponges to wash dishes. Also make sure to bring your own Kleenex, soaps, shampoo, and hairdryer.
The heater downstairs living room would turn off in the middle of the night and had to be reset every cold morning (the host gave instructions on how to do it). The downstairs bedroom has an old giant wall heater right next to the head of the bed which was extremely noisy when turned on (popping, and explosive knocking sounds). It was so noisy we opted to lower thermostat to 60 degrees and use more blankets instead of having the heater kick on, which woke us up every time. Also there is no place to hang clothes in downstairs bedroom. Lastly the clothes dryer was temperamental; a couple of the loads took 3 hours to dry even though we adjusted the settings and cleaned out the lint trap.
With better supplies and 2 new downstairs heaters, we would hibernate at the Bear Cave again.
