About this cabin rental

The main living space on the first floor is both open and cozy. In the living room you’re welcomed by the large stone fireplace with gas logs, comfy seating, TV with Roku streaming and a large DVD collection, books, board games, and puzzles. The dining area has seating for six and the table can be expanded to fit eight.

Our well-stocked kitchen has all the pots, pans, and pantry essentials to cook any meals during your stay, or take things outside and grill out on our three-burner gas grill. On the coffee bar we provide a drip coffee maker, filters, and grounds. If you're discerning about your coffee, feel free to bring your own beans and use our burr grinder.

Upstairs you’ll find two bedrooms with queen-sized beds. The morning sun-filled front bedroom features a walk-out balcony with comfy swing chair: a haven for sunrise coffee rituals. If you're sensitive to morning sunlight, we'd recommend getting your beauty sleep in the upstairs back bedroom with its single northwest-facing window.

The third bedroom, on the main floor, also stays nice and dark for light-sensitive guests, and includes a comfortable full-sized bed, twin trundle bed, and desk nook for quiet work sessions. With high-speed satellite wifi, you can bring your laptop and work in between outings to all of the nearby trails.

The full bathroom upstairs includes a shower/tub combo. You’ll find the half bath on the main floor, as well a bonus shower stall in the laundry room, which also houses—you guessed it—our washer and dryer.

Outside, there’s plenty of space to relax on our brand-new wrap-around deck. Dine alfresco on the deck with seating for 6, or gather around the Solo Stove fire pit for a night of stories and s’mores.

WIFI AND CELL SERVICE: We’re pleased to now provide high-speed satellite internet for our guests! Your connection will be strong enough for everything from Googling the nearest trailhead to Netflixing the newest season of your favorite show. Need to work remotely during your visit? Not a problem! Just be aware that micro-interruptions to satellite service can sometimes interrupt video calls, but we’ve found these interruptions to be few and far between. Though we now have the best internet available in our area, as always, we encourage you to embrace your time in nature and unplug with your friends and family!

While most of the surrounding area in Madison and Rappahannock Counties is a cellular dead zone, the cabin does have decent Verizon service. We encourage those with other services to enable free Wifi calling on their phone prior to their visit to allow for phone calls.

WINTER ROAD ACCESS: We *highly* recommend 4-wheel drive for stays during snow or icy conditions. The road .25 miles out from the cabin includes a short but steep section, and the final 0.1 mile and driveway may not be plowed.

PETS: We happily welcome all well-behaved, potty-trained good boys and girls to join you during your stay for a pet fee of $75 per dog. In consideration of our home and all future guests, pets are not allowed on furniture or beds, and we ask that you pick up after them in the yard. *Dogs must be crated if left alone in the cabin.*

LOCATION: The cabin sits on a pretty quiet lane that is home to a combination of weekenders and full-time residents. Situated on the very top of the ridge, in line with the tree tops and above all the other homes on our road, you'll feel secluded from the rest of the neighbors without feeling *too* isolated.

NEARBY: If you're looking to get out and about during your visit, there's no shortage of things to do in the Shenandoah area! The cabin is less than a mile from DuCard Vineyards, 2.5 miles from Graves Mountain Lodge, 5 miles from Lower Whiteoak Canyon Falls Trailhead, 8 miles from the Old Rag Ranger Station Parking, and 21 miles from the Thornton Gap entrance station to Shenandoah National Park. We're just 11 miles to the town of Madison and 14 miles to the town of Sperryville and all the local wineries, breweries, restaurants and shopping they have to offer. Be sure to load your GPS while still in range of the Wifi, as cell service in Madison and the surrounding counties is pretty hard to come by.

What a wonderful cabin for our family for the week! It had everything we needed, was very comfortable, and incredibly clean. The host was immediately responsive to anything we had a question about. The hosts were very welcoming and communicative. The house was clean and was only 15 min away from the White Oak Falls Lower Trailhead and about 40 minutes away from the Thornton Gap Entrance station. The beds (and couch) were very comfortable so we all slept pretty well. There were a lot of deer around and the views were great. We could clearly see the stars at night.
