Bluegrass Cottage - Free parking

The location and price of our stay was great - staying literally 5 min walk from the harbour. The fact there was a parking space included was great however please be aware that if you stay here and have a saloon type car it will be tight getting it into the space due to the property being down a narrow side street (I have a Polestar and had to use all the parking sensors and reversing cameras to full effect to reverse it in haha). The access to the property was by a keypad code which is sent prior to the stay and was better to use than having to carry a key around with you. It was a bonus with it being dog friendly as well The stairs are steep which I think adds character to the overall accommodation but be aware if you have mobility issues then this location may not be for you. The overall accommodation was good for a couple of nights stay where we spent most of the day exploring and only used the accommodation to sleep. The kitchen area was nice, clean and modern although there is a nice coffee and breakfast spot, Lush Coffee, across the road that does great coffee and breakfast rolls with friendly staff.

A few marks were lost due to the following. Although these didn't impact our stay much as we were only there a couple of nights it would make the experience better. 1. The overall decor needs touching up as it looks dated. There was obvious marks on the wall and stains to the rugs and carpets and general wear and tear. The blinds in the bedroom need replacing as these were very worn with water marks on them. They would be best being blackout blinds as they did nothing to block out the sun in the morning. One of the blinds in the kitchen area needs replacing as this was missing. 2. En suite toilet had the seat off and was hard to flush. Luckily there is a second toilet and bathroom but you do have to go down the steep steps to get to it. This was clean and modern though. 3. The living room could be updated with new covers on the sofa and chair as they are worn. A bit of a refresh and this would be a great accommodation

It was far larger than we thought for the price. Very cosy, quirky and tight in the heart of Whitby. Highly reccomend as it’s a calm street, not busy and a short walk away from the bay. Play customer service was excellent when we had a query

Finding the property and directions were tricky due to the one way systems, therefore a provided directions, or suggestions on which roads to go down would be beneficial.

It was cheap for the night and in a good location

The stairs. There are to flights of stairs. One to living room then a second to the bedroom No good to anyone with mobility problems or even small children. Very steep
