Comfortable and cool, kitchen had everything we needed, it was close to restaurants and stores as well as the natural reserve.

It was a bit difficult to get to but Ok one we figured it out.

The kitchen was well supplied. We really appreciated the washing machine and clothes line. The owners have thought to supply many little things. It was a quiet neighborhood. It was good value.

We appreciated a parking spot but it was a bit steep to park on.

Close to restaurants. We weren’t expecting American-style conveniences, but the cumulative impact of these issues (see below) makes it difficult to recommend this place to others.

There was ongoing construction at a neighboring property, which created noise and dust and disrupted our midday rest after early morning activities. It also gets quite warm during the day, and the single fan wasn’t sufficient to keep the space comfortable. On one of the days, the water supply was temporarily cut off due to the construction—although it was restored within a couple of hours, we couldn’t use the bathroom or kitchen during that time. The host was not very approachable and came across as abrupt, with limited responsiveness beyond asking us to “have patience.” Many of these issues could have been offset by a warm, welcoming host—we’ve experienced some wonderful hospitality in Costa Rica—but this was quite the opposite. There was also only one roll of toilet paper provided, which we ran out of and had to substitute with kitchen tissues. Parking is on the street a couple of blocks away, likely due to the narrow alleyway access, and it appears the host manages multiple properties along the same street and may allow parking close to one or more of his properties. Note that, the washing machine is an older model that requires manual switching between wash and spin cycles, and the spin function wasn’t very effective—resulting in more effort than expected.
