Lovely property, rural location and lovely owners
Nothing of note, we had a lovely time

There were a lot of thoughtful touches and generous items left for breakfast. The accommodation feels spacious and beds were comfy. It contained everything we needed as a family and the host was kind.
As a parent of two young children, I was uncomfortable with dogs off the lead in the garden especially when we were using for access. Other parents may be more comfortable with this. The accommodation is quite remote especially the last track so good to be aware.

Very peaceful location and a lovely welcoming host, Simon.
Everything you could possibly want for self catering and super outdoors space. Goats were most amusing, and the dogs very friendly & playful.
Fabulous welcome pack providing a great breakfast!
The track leading to the property is as described by the owner, and as long as you drive slowly with care it is fine.

It had every conceivable gadget you could wish for it was a home from home.
We were made to feel very welcome by Simon.
The track to the barn was in abit of a poor state of repair which should be made a little clearer in the booking process.

Thank you Simon for a lovely stay, really wish we could have stayed longer, the grandchildren would have loved to visit! : )
Cosy, rustic, comfortable, clean, rural and so peaceful,
Loved all the animals, even the Cockerell 6.30am alarm didn't bother us : )
Exactly what a rural country break should be. Thank you : )

Simon is a really friendly, likeable guy and he was super accommodating. The Barn Conversion is really well proportioned open plan accommodation with two good sized bedrooms and a large, well equipped kitchen, dining and living room. There was plenty of space for our family of two adults, two teenagers and a dog!! The stone track driveway requires either good ground clearance or careful driving but it’s easy enough and only really for the last 150 metres or so as the first section off the road through the farm is paved but there in lies the beauty of Simon’s place for me…… you are completely tucked away from the rest of the world!!
There were two very cheeky goats, a pig, a pony, a rooster and his girlfriend the hen roaming free which all loved to interact with us and were no bother with our manic cocker spaniel either! All very happy to eat the scraps of your dinner! Take a walk around the fishing lakes below the property in the evening and enjoy not hearing a single man made noise… no cars, motorbikes or aeroplanes, just the sound of the water, wandering pheasants calling and wild birds singing… truly blissful in the hectic world of people and white noise we inhabit these days!
As Simon himself says, “it’s no good if you want to pop out for a decent curry” but if you are not in a hurry and want to get off grid and but still have a warm shower, comfy bed and a bit of WiFi then you’re the type of person to truly enjoy this place. Priced very fairly and worth every penny.

The property had everything we needed, and more! I've never stayed somewhere as well-stocked as here. The location was beautiful, and the goats were an added bonus!

Breakfast with "proper" coffee was brilliant.
"Off road" approach needs attention.

We absolutely loved staying in this little gem. The apartment was a great size, with absolutely everything you could need including toys for the children and a cosy wood burner with plenty of logs. The under floor heating added to the comfort as bedrooms were warm and snug. Beds were a good size and really comfy, which isn't always the case with most places. The host was lovely too and the children loved having animals outside.
The driveway to the property was quite eroded but living in a similar place ourselves we understood the challenges of trying to maintain this and the host informed us in an email beforehand, so no surprised.

The cottage was really lovely and the kitchen had everything you could possibly need, large fridge freezer, air fryer, coffee machine, large range oven and more than enough utensils and cooking items. The host Simon met us and was friendly and always on hand if we needed anything. The location was wonderful, the accommodation was lovely in how it was set out and very spacious. It was also very quiet with a lake view, nice walks and even saw several deer whilst we were there and unlike a lot of other places we have used that were dog friendly no additional charge. I cannot rate this place highly enough and we will definitely be back again and this time will stay longer.
The only downside is the road up but it is easily enough passable and the wi-fi was not the best but these are such minor elements to an amazing few days away and we will be back, absolutely loved our stay there.

The property was beautifully located, with fantastic views. The property is warm and cosy and really nicely decorated. It was really thoughtfully stocked, from kitchen staples, toiletries and enough wood to keep the fire going. Full access to Netflix and smart TV provided.
Nothing! Possibly if we were staying during the summer would have liked the outside a bit tidier, but appreciate that there had been recent storm damage that Simon was working on.
