Palazzo Rudiae - Sant'Irene

We stayed at Palazzo Rudiae for almost two months and honestly couldn’t have chosen a better place to call home in Lecce. The location is perfect, right in the beautiful old town and close to everything, yet remarkably quiet. The apartment is incredibly spacious, with generous rooms, glorious high star-vaulted ceilings typical of Puglia and fabulous air conditioning, which was very welcome during summer. We also loved the private courtyard, where we spent many evenings having dinner, looking up at the sky and listening to the swallows flying overhead. It’s one of those simple memories of Lecce we’ll hold onto for a very long time. Everything we needed for a long and comfortable stay was provided, including beautiful quality linen and towels. We were also given freshly washed beach towels, a beach chair and umbrella for our trips to the coast. But what really made our stay exceptional was our host, Carla. She is one of the loveliest people we met during our time in Puglia. She was incredibly responsive, warm and helpful, with wonderful local knowledge of Lecce and Salento. She even met us at the train station to help with our luggage. Throughout our stay she regularly surprised us with little packages of pastries and treats from local bakeries left outside our door. When it was time for us to leave, she came over especially to say goodbye and gave us a beautifully wrapped gift to open when we returned home to Melbourne. She had chosen it specifically because it reminded her of us, which touched us enormously. When you stay somewhere for two months, your accommodation and host can really shape your experience. Palazzo Rudiae and Carla were a huge part of why we loved our time in Lecce so much. We would return in a heartbeat.

Clean, very good location, spacious, although in the centre very quiet, very helpful and kind host, outstanding service. Carla was always responsive and does an excellent service (eg helping with carpark, recommendation of nice places etc). We spent 7 weeks in the apartment, i had birthday during my stay and Carla presented me with a nice card and a bottle of wine, which I appreciated very much. Whenever I go back to Lecce the apartment will have a high priority for the stay.

Posizione strategica, vicino al centro e ad un comodo parcheggio a pagamento. L'appartamento e' grande, silenzioso, arredato con gusto e mantiene le bellezze tipiche dei palazzi storici leccesi.
