Al Vico Apartment in the historic center of Lecce

When we arrived and saw it located right in front of the duomo, we didn’t expect much rest. But the terrace is incredible! We were on our honeymoon moon, driving for 3 weeks and this is the place that felt like home! It’s the only place where I cooked a full meal. Plus, we had the chance to do laundry, have the dog rest, as Old Town Lecce is all covered in stone, so walks are problematic for dogs in the scorching heat. That terrace is worth every penny! Such a pleasure to water all plants, as we ended up extending our stay. That’s how comfortable we were! Oh, and the gorgeous inner courtyard!! And the friendly neighbors!

The faucets, or water pressure. They play a number on you and splash everything if you’re not careful. We had time to adjust to it, though :)

The location, the authenticity, a large Italian apartment, a bit dated but thoroughly fit for purpose. The roof top terrace was a huge plus. The apartment is within a converted very old convent.

Air con was a bit weak but I’m splitting hairs - it’s an authentic Italian experience - not new and flashy.

The apartment was very spacious and comfortable. The position could not be improved - you step out to face the rear entrance to the Duomo.. The courtyard approach was very atmospheric. The "patio' was a haven of peace.

Being in the centre meant that all the surrounding shops catered for passing tourists. It would have been helpful if there had been information on the location of nearby ordinary supermarkets, bakeries etc.
