The Bluebird was an amazing family home in the Windmark North. The owners clearly both thought of the family guests who’d be staying there and granted their guests tremendous trust in sharing their bikes, beach gear, puzzles, games, stocked spice and plastic wrap/ziplock bag pantry. They literally thought of everything! Thank you!

It seems to me that the owners may have recently signed on with pristine properties to manage guests bookings/cleaning, etc. This is where our experience fell short. With all that the property supplied, there were only three toilet paper rolls for us for the entire week and no garbage bags to refill the cans. Fortunately, our party was small—A mom and her two teen daughters, so we lived lightly and got by with what we had. Still, had our party been larger this may have been a challenge that we didn’t realize we had until it was too late. Next, there was a a report that smoke detectors were malfunctioning/taken down and lying on a counter(??), perhaps from the cleaning crew or a previous guest, which was a shock to us, because when we arrived around 10 pm, all seems lovely. The first morning of our stay, we had to coordinate a visit from an electrician—which happens—but, the communication around his arrival was unclear. The managing company shared they didn’t have my phone number, although I had provided it three times—one during this booking, and twice via email. Lastly, the guest portal provided by Pristine Properties was clunky and extraneous. I only needed a door and pool code—which were only provided via email after 4 pm the day of the reservation. The guest portal didn’t even have the property address or directions, which fortunately I found using the pin required on Booking.com as Pristine Properties didn’t not respond to my request to send this information to me. I do think property management can be tricky and perhaps this business is having growing pains in managing unserviced homes (eg homes that don’t have daily maid service), but at the least basics needed to be provided to weekly guests, so they can uphold property integrity—toilet paper and garage bags are very basic. Next, the guest portal needs to provide key information in a clear way on one page: addresses, needed codes, etc.
