Beautiful location but the villa is poorly maintained and with a very shabby kitchen

Stunning location overlooking Lake Maggiore. Spacious villa with plenty of outdoor space.

We paid over €3,000 for the week's stay for two people and the accommodation was substantially below the standard we expected and the description that was provided: - we were without one bathroom for the first three days of our stay - we had three plumbers on site for a day and a half during which time we couldn't use the toilets or sinks in the house while they were at work - we were without the spa shower for our entire stay - there were two significant items which were advertised but not provided: - a washing machine - which caused us significant inconvenience as we are on a long touring holiday - and we weren't warned of that in advance; and - a microwave oven - one of the sinks was blocked - but was quickly freed thanks to the plumbers who were on site - the maintenance of the property was not what we expected - for example: the grass hadn't been cut in weeks and the sauna was very dirty and full of cobwebs - the fridge door didn't close properly - and this had clearly been a problem before we arrived as tape had been added to the inside of the door to enable it to close - the house alarm went off one night which caused great distress to our dog and we were only able to stop it (no instructions were provided) by unplugging the amplifier - the instructions to get to the property were so poor that we wasted an hour trying to find it and had to call the owner for instructions. Added to that, the general standard of cleanliness and upkeep - particularly in the kitchen - were poor. I attach a few photographs to give a flavour. The owner provided us with a €100 restaurant voucher at the start of the holiday to compensate us for the unavailability of one of the bathrooms for two days until the plumbers arrived, and he responded promptly to my daily text messages - but having to send messages daily is an indicator of the scale of the problems. We invited the owner to offer us compensation but he never responded.

Top Lage mit wunderschönem Blick auf den See, sehr gute Ausstattung, saubere und große Schlafzimmer mit Bad, Vollausgestattete Küche, Wohnzimmer im Obergeschoss mit Blick auf den See, Whirlpool im Garten absolut spitze

Aufgrund der örtlichen Gegebenheiten (Hanglage) ist die Zufahrt etwas steil und nicht mit jedem Fahrzeug problemlos zu bewältigen. Hier kann jedoch der Vermieter nichts dafür, super Lage des Hauses bedeutet auch Hanglage :) Alternativen für Fahrzeug wurden vom Vermieter genannt (vielen Dank hierfür) und teilweise auch genutzt.
