About this house rental

Situated in the heart of Miners Bay on Active Pass. Watch ferries, sea planes, and sea life go by. Walking distance to Mayne Island's charming town. Stay in a historic home built in 1901 and beautifully updated with all of the modern comforts. Curl up in the living room by the wood burning stove and watch the sunset over Active Pass. Almost acre property with orchard, shed, woodshed and a fenced-in yard with large deck, hot tub, and outdoor shower. Monthly rentals only.

The space:
Drive up a country lane to access a large parking pad that backs onto the orchard. Enter a fenced yard with a lush garden. Enter through the back door into an updated mudroom with full size laundry. The only bathroom has everything you need - updated large tub/shower and heated floors. The kitchen has beautiful butcher block counters, a decorative vintage stove (not for use), and lots of space. Step into a wood paneled living room that once was an old general store, accompanied by a wood burning stove, large dining table, huge ceilings and cozy three-piece Pottery Barn sofa set to curl up on. There is one bedroom off the living room that has a pull-out bed and crib. Upstairs there are three additional bedrooms including an ocean view master with a queen bed, an ocean view kids room with a single bed and crib, and a garden view room with a queen. Listen to the ferries sail by and the waves crashing onto the beach from bed. There is also an office space that looks out at the government dock. The front porch has a dining set and an old ferry bench seat. The back deck is expansive with an outdoor L shaped couch, dining table, Yeti cooler, hot tub and outdoor shower. The workshop in the orchard has all of the equipment and tools that you could need. Also in the orchard there is a big firepit and firewood shed.

Guest access:
Guests have access to entire property, with exception of personal bins which are stored in the storage room.

Other things to note:
Garbage is collected on Monday mornings for the side of the driveway. Garbage tickets can be purchased at Tru Value for $8/bag. There is a recycling depot on island.

The property is on a very productive well water system with a storage tank at the top of the property. The water runs through a three filter system into the house but, we still would advise that guests use bottled water for drinking/cooking. Water jugs can be purchased at the gas station or Tru Value and there is a dispenser in the kitchen.

The fire pit in the Orchard can only be used when there is no fire ban on the island. Please check online with Mayne Island Fire Department to see if a ban has been posted.

In case of power outage, there is a portable generator on site. Details of use are provided on location.

As we are only offering monthly/long term rentals, each guest must sign a tenancy agreement prior to rental.
