Fortunately Sam had been able to prepare the cottage earlier so we didn't have to wait until 4pm which was an added bonus. I don't think the website does this cottage justice. We have stayed in many different cottages in different parts of the UK but we all agreed that this was simply the best. It's spotlessly clean and well maintained and light and airy given the high ceilings and plenty of windows. The interior is so tastefully furnished and all the extra touches such as fur throws give an added feeling of luxury. The underfloor heating throughout the cottage is fabulous and makes for a very cosy experience and definitely a warm floor in the bathroom is missed since being home. The kitchen is fully equipped with every utensil that you could need, even weighing scales. Sam had kindly provided some essential provisions and a lovely cake too which was a lovely gesture. The beds are so comfortable with crisp white linen and again fur throws. The master bedroom has the most beautiful outlook onto the pond. The rainfall shower was great, plenty of hot water. Great thick towels too for drying off. Great enclosed garden too which our Rhodesian Ridgeback loved with great views of the countryside. It's also in the best location with easy access to all the surrounding Cotswold towns. Also an added bonus was the Queen Elizabeth Pub 5 minutes from the cottage. A buzzing atmosphere with very friendly locals and good pub food. If you're looking for something more than quality pub food then try Da Luigi Italian and Michaels Mediterranean both in Chipping Campden both of whom accept dogs and the food at both is divine as is the service. We couldn't have had a better weekend and can highly recommend The Byres.

Absolutely fantastic stay for the Christmas period!!! The most comfortable we have ever been during a cottage holiday. The owners have really thought about the home comforts. The chritmas tree and decorations were beautiful!! Nearby to the surrounding villages. We highly recommend The Byres and are planning on returning again later this year.

We had a wonderful pre Christmas break at The Byers, Elmley Castle myself my husband and our little westie. The cottage is very well equipped with everything you need, good quality furnishings and very warm and cosy there was a lovely Christmas tree and some decoration also. The Byers is a very good location to explore The Cotswolds with Broadway less than a 10 minute drive away beautifully decorated for Christmas, with a great selection of shops, bars and cafes. The local pub The Queen Elizabeth Inn is a 5 minute walk from the cottage that is a not for profit pub, restaurant and cafe owned by a group of locals, good food, good choice of drinks and a great atmosphere. The only point I would like to make is that the cleaners had left a descale bag in the kettle which we were completely unaware of and after making a cup of tea on arrival we felt very sick, it wasn’t noticeable in the bottom of the kettle so just be aware…….. We also had trouble connecting to the WiFi on arrival but after a quick phone call someone came and we were reconnected.
