The location with the turquoise Indian Ocean a few steps outside the door was great. Very easygoing and calm around the hotel.
There is a bit of a noice from the rooms upstairs if you stay downstairs, it kept us awake when people were walking around. The breakfast was very simple and the same the days we spent there.

The location was really close everywhere. Hotel located in front of sea. The stuff were friendly, help with everything. The breakfast was delicious. Sometimes we had lunch also it was really delicious. Also they make us surprise, next to the sea a table like picnic, when we order the lunch earlier. Thank you make us feel at home. We are definitely thinking to visit again.

We had a twin room at the back of the guest house, the only room available. But we were very comfortable and there was a small outside private patio.
Mathiveri has construction here and there, mostly 3 storey tourist accommodation. So most guest houses have some inconvenience as a result. But building here in general is lower key...no cranes, cement is mixed by hand etc. We were lucky to enjoy a quiet few days. Riveli is not exempt from extraneous noise, but it is well located - barefoot out their door onto the public beach. The beach front rooms are the best in town. 2026-27 will be fine.here but there is a modern airport planned for the future.

Great location near the water, very comfortable room with hot water, good WIFI, and nice balcony. Chill atmosphere. Nice local breakfast (non-local option too, but I didn't try). Overall a really nice hotel, and the staff in Malé were amazingly helpful via text message.
The one on-site staff was not friendly or helpful. Overall he seemed to not want to be there or do any work. Three examples. (1) The island is great for manta ray excursions and Malé staff said via text they could organize, but when I arrived and spoke to the on-site staff he said no without explanation. Big disappointment. (2) So I instead asked to rent an all-day kayak and he said ok. I said I'd take it in one hour, but when I returned he said he gave it to another guest and there were none. After I objected he took me to a beach 2min away where he had two more kayaks. No explanation. And when I took a break for lunch at 2pm he wanted to lock it up and said he wouldn't be around to unlock for me again. (3) I arrived at 6pm and hoped for fish dinner, he was baking fish for other guests but said it was too late today which I accepted and asked for tomorrow instead. Next afternoon I wanted to remind him of this early, but when I did he said he was going to give all the fish to the new group of people who checked in that day. No explanation why he'd do that when I already asked. I ate elsewhere. Overall he was grumpy, non-communicative, and made me feel unwelcome.
