Sweethaven Chalet

We absolutely loved Sweethaven! It's like home away from home, thoughtfully equipped and comfortable. The clothes washer was very handy, and there's a dryer, too, which is rare for rentals in Europe. The kitchen is very well-equipped, and even includes a Nespresso machine with pods provided. We had a car for our stay in order to drive out to Connemara and beyond for hiking and sightseeing, but for going into Galway we used the city bus, which will pick you up literally right in front of the property. So the location was great for us. We would not hesitate to stay there again next time we're in Galway!

Very nice and cosy chalet. It was very well equipped and we found everything we needed. Lovely hosts.

The mattress of the single bed was a little soft but not uncomfortable.

Il manquerai juste un porte manteau et peut-être une étagère dans la salle de bains, mais c'est vraiment un détail..

The check-in was seamless and the property was located close to Oughterard, which was a convenient base for exploring Connaught/Connemara.

The place could’ve have used a deeper cleaning and the sliding door to the main bedroom’s bathroom was off the track and thus unable to be closed. This made it quite uncomfortable, in a sense, and my senior mother tweaked her shoulder while simply trying to close the bathroom door for some privacy. Some of the bedding and the furniture would benefit from a more intensive cleaning. The lighting in the bathrooms could be improved. Lastly, an instruction manual on how to use the oven’s various settings would be appreciated by future guests, I imagine.
