The Belvedere Manor -

We had a wonderful stay in this beautiful Neo-Renaissance manor in the peaceful village of Castries, near Montpellier. The house has a unique atmosphere and truly reflects the spirit of its era. You can see the love and care the family has invested in preserving and decorating it over the years. Its location next to the historic château and park makes it easy to immerse yourself in the charm and history of this lovely village. We stayed here with our extended family, including a newborn baby, in the middle of July. The weather was extremely hot, and while air conditioning would have made the stay even more comfortable, the swimming pool more than compensated for it and became the highlight of our holiday. The hosts were always available, responsive, and genuinely willing to help with any questions or requests, which made us feel very welcome. The village itself is delightful. There are small shops and local stalls within walking distance, offering delicious ice cream and fresh pastries. On Fridays, the village hosts a wonderful farmers’ market where you can enjoy local oysters, cheeses, meat, fish, fresh fruit, and vegetables. Overall, we truly enjoyed our stay. It was the perfect place for a quiet, relaxing holiday away from busy cities, and we would happily recommend it to anyone looking for an authentic and peaceful experience in the South of France.

One small thing to keep in mind is that there is no toilet on the ground floor or by the pool. Of course, this is a centuries-old historic house built in a completely different era :-), so we simply adapted to it during our stay.

Out of gas for stove at arrival but found spare in basement. Pool got very cloudy after a couple of days. Needed chlorine shock so we couldnt use it that day.

The house is absolutely exceptional! We loved it from the minute we arrived. It is old French style and it really felt like we were “living the dream”. The house is huge and had absolutely everything we needed and more. We really made good use of the lovely pool and the surrounding garden was just lovely. We enjoyed dining beside the pool in the dining space and having coffee/drinks at the seating area. The pool was so lovely to swim and cool down in. The pool room offered us great entertainment in the evenings and of course the rooftop terrace offered us a lovely place to observe our surroundings. The house is bigger than you would imagine from the pictures and I would recommend this 100%. We stayed for 7 nights with my young adult family and they didn’t want to leave ! We loved Castries with the beautiful Chateau and cute bakeries within 5 mins walk. Overall this was a dream and we will go back for sure!

The accommodation meets the expectation. It's easy to relax in a beautiful setting. There are plenty of parking options (miles away).

The communication of Booking.com. I received in total 20 e-mails concerning the check-inn, arrival en departure instructions with no new information and only in French language. The information that I wanted to know, could I not found.
