Periwinkle Cottage was perfect! It was very clean, and had everything we needed to make us feel comfortable and at home during our stay, including, a good quality wood burner for the cool evenings. The location was perfect too, with the butchers shop right across the road. You still need to be up early if you want to beat the queue for the award winning pork pies. Ruswarp station was 3 mins walk away and Whitby is 6 mins on the train (1 stop).
It is on a busy road so we needed to be sure we didn’t let the dog get through the front door without her having her lead on.

This is a gorgeous little cottage with tasteful decor and lovely touches throughout. The home is well equipped and feels really homely. The outside space is lovely and peaceful.
The location in Ruswarp is excellent. It was a 25 minute down a flat, peaceful riverside walk into the heart of Whitby. It was a great base for the whole coast. We loved the butchers opposite which served breakfast sandwiches.
