It is nice and comfortable. Very well equipped, it has everything you expect in a home and more. Kitchen utensils were more than enough, even comes with an air fryer which I did not expect. Had enough dish soap and swabs which I really appreciated even though there is a dishwasher. I even spotted a beach umbrella, which was a first for me in a vacation home. The property is well maintained even on the outside, beautiful yard - exactly as on the pics. It is a short walk to the beach and there are nice coffee shops around. The host, Gillian, was very responsive and always available on the phone. She sent communication from the morning on the day of check in which made everything convenient. We had a really great experience and would go back there anytime

A nice ground level apartment. All very clean. The pick up for the key is a bit away, but since you are told beforehand, it wasnt really any hassle at all. Only stayed a night, good night's sleep. Took a sunrise walk along the beach (very convenient to have a direct access port and washing facilities to wash off sand/saltwater). The famous Salt Cafe is just outside the gate, absolute perfect Flat Whites!! Drop off the keys was no trouble as it was on the way.
The host might want to think about exchanging the cooking plates (they are all rusted/corroded, probably from saltwater). They take forever to heat up, need highest setting 9 to cook anything and thus also waste a lot of energy. All the non-serrated knives were as blunt as a spoon. There was no salt/pepper nor a welcome bottle of water to make a cup of tea. Also, both coffee mugs seem to leak. Although they are not broken?! Not sure how that works, but both had a coffee lake slowly growing when standing on a table. These are all minor issues. But maybe worthwhile for the host to consider. There is car noise from the busy road constantly during the day. Not audible inside, but when sitting outside.

Keys are collected from a service station in outer Ballito, luckily not out of the way if coming from Durban. The property was comfortable, and did not absorb the worst of the heat/sun as it was well positioned. The shower was nice and powerful. Beds were comfortable. Beach, pool, and nearby Salt cafe were all very close and easy to get to. There were some nice touches missing in other places I've stayed, such as a stand to hang out wet towels/costumes to dry.
Felt the property could have been checked better, the kettle was not working which I only discovered late at night, the sliding door was off its runner and very hard to open until we realised the problem and the fridge door was missing a shelf. However, the agency was very responsive and delivered a kettle next day and apparently a fridge shelf is on order. We had some bad luck in that there was a power failure from the first morning of our stay which lasted for 17 hours. It affected the whole area. When the power came back late in the evening unfortunately the Salt cafe which is just across the road from the unit did not get their power back. They ran an extremely noisy generator for the next 2 days which was stationed on the road outside and ran from 4am to 9pm daily meaning I got woken up at 4am. None of this is the fault of the property but obviously it affected our stay and was annoying after you have paid school holidays prices. Their power came back just before we left! I did not appreciate a WhatsApp from the agency saying 'please give us a glowing 10 star review and we will do the same for you' - come on guys, this is not ok. I will give a fair review and expect the same.
