The charming little village of Butkovici offers the perfect opportunity to discover the gentle and unhurried pace that still characterises rural Istria today. 14 km away is Svetvincenat, an attractive little town with an impressive medieval stone castle and a good selection of amenities, including a post office and restaurants. Also 14 km from the village is Vodnjan - a charming town with visible Venetian influence evident in the medieval houses and narrow streets full of shops and cafes. About 20 minutes' drive away are beautiful pebble beaches to the north and south of Rovinj, Istria's most romantic town and popular holiday destination, and Fazana with its pretty harbour where you can hire boats and water taxis to the fantastic Brijuni National Park.
