In honor of this truffle, the famous Truffle Festival is held every year in September and October. On the second weekend in September, there is a very special attraction in Buzet - a gigantic omelette (also known as fritada or fritaja). Over 2000 eggs and 10 kilos of truffles are cooked in a huge pan. This event marks the official start of the truffle season in Istria.
