Whether you have planned a quiet relaxing getaway or a vacation filled with activities, you have chosen the perfect location with Sea Fern Cottage in Emerald Isle. It’s a newly renovated house where you have a private pathway that leads you directly to the most desirable beach at The Point! The Point, a wide sandy beach surrounded by dunes, is the western most section of the island. Warm water, shell gathering, surf fishing and the most amazing sunsets make this the best beach on the island, hands down. Sea Fern cottage is less than a 5 minute walk (0.3 miles) to the beach and has everything you need for your stay, including four adult bikes, beach toys, a beach wagon, beach chairs and an outdoor shower!
Sea Fern Cottage’s 2145 square feet sleeps 10 in 4 bedrooms, with 1 king, 1 queen, 2 twins, a twin daybed, a trundle bed, and a pull-out queen. There are 2 full baths and 1 half-bath. Please note that linens are provided with the housekeeping fee. There is also room to bring your boat with ample parking for your friends and family and boat trailer. Outdoor security cameras onsite. A boat ramp into the sound is only minutes away, as is everything else that Emerald Isle has to offer.
Sea Fern Cottage features open-plan living on the 2nd floor with great natural light, making cooking in the gourmet kitchen a delight. You will love cooking on the induction stove! This space opens onto a large screened deck that puts you high in the trees of the yard. This atmosphere gives the house its name, Sea Fern, with the huge trees swaying gently in the breeze like sea fern in a current. Its 3 levels makes it easy to handle a crowd and its outdoor space with a yard, grill and numerous decks makes getting together with family and friends almost the best part of the day.
Be sure to explore the island using the great bike and walking path that runs the length of Emerald Isle, numerous parks and fishing piers, surf and shore fishing, public boat and kayak launch sites. Check out these attractions nearby: Flatwaters Paddling, Emerald Isle Adventures, The Salty Pirate Water Slide, Mac Daddy’s Entertainment Center with mini golf, a driving range, bumper cars, a Sky Trail, bowling and much more. The NC Aquarium at Pine Knoll Shores, and Fort Macon State Park, outside of Atlantic Beach are also must-sees. Stop at the Bogue Inlet fishing Pier, and catch a few for supper! Take a day trip to Bear Island at Hammocks Beach State Park-by ferry. Emerald Isle has it all including excellent seafood restaurants, night spots and, of course, numerous places to sample ice cream. The home was so clean and welcoming. We loved cooking in the kitchen and the social area upstairs. The bedrooms cozy, and the decorations were perfect.

Our stay wasn't too bad. The house was lovely. Beach access was within walking distance. The house had everything we needed. We did have an issue with using the stove, but the property manager was able to help us. The only thing that made our stay a little disappointing was the AC, which we did contact the property manager about. It was very slow with cooling down the house, especially the top floor where the living room and kitchen were located. After several hours, the temperature never really dropped. It finally dropped when we went to sleep at night, but it would go back up when we cooked. Aside from the AC, we enjoyed our stay at Sea Fern Cottage.

We celebrate every July 4th at the NC coast, and this house was immaculate and comfortable! Great kitchen and new (or maintained like new) bikes, beach chairs, and other extras. Too far inland to get an ocean breeze (or view), so we made little use of the outside features (except the outdoor shower, which is nice). But bikes made it easy to get to the beach and all of the Point.

We had a great stay at Sea Fern. There was excellent communication before we arrived with all the information we needed, yummy sweets when we arrived, and a wonderfully stocked house with many amenities. Once we found the path to the beach, it gave us a quaint, short but shaded walk to the beach in less than 5 minutes. We really had a great time, loved the location of the house. We didn't have any issues so we never had to reach out to anyone for help. We look forward to staying at Sea Fern again!
